SCALIS matches relevant candidates to companies with a fully integrated AI‑based Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Job Board platform that redefines the standard approach to collecting and processing applicant information powered by a next‑generation matching algorithm. We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in infrastructure automation, cloud architecture, and modern DevOps practices, with deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take a leadership role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments. If you are a motivated engineer with a passion for building robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure systems, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Join our team and contribute to the success of our innovative projects. We provide our team members with the freedom to bring in new ideas and strategies to help our business grow. You will be joining as our second DevOps engineer (the team today is one Staff DevOps engineer) responsible for managing infrastructure across multiple AWS accounts, supporting microservices deployed on Kubernetes, and enabling rapid development velocity through modern GitOps practices. Our infrastructure is scaling rapidly as we expand our platform capabilities, presenting exciting challenges in multi‑account management, automation, and platform reliability. We are hiring this role to reduce single‑operator risk, share ownership, and scale ahead of growth—not just to fight fires. We value sustainable ways of working: ownership is shared across the team, and you are not expected to be a 24/7 single point of failure. As we grow, any future incident and on‑call responsibilities will be designed around fair participation, low toil, and a healthy work‑life balance. This role offers significant impact and growth opportunities as you help shape our infrastructure strategy and build world‑class DevOps practices. Come shape the future of hiring with us!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS across multiple accounts and environments.
  • Build and manage multi‑account Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Architect and maintain Kubernetes (EKS) clusters with focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Implement GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments using ArgoCD, Helm, and GitHub Actions.
  • Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
  • Collaborate with security teams on IAM policies, threat detection, and compliance controls.
  • Support security audits and vulnerability assessments as they relate to infrastructure and deployments.
  • Collaborate with data and application teams on databases, streaming platforms, and serverless architectures.
  • Optimize networking infrastructure, load balancing, DNS management, and CDN configuration.
  • Build automation tools and scripts to improve infrastructure management and operational efficiency.
What Success Looks Like:
  • Infrastructure changes are deployed safely through automated pipelines with zero downtime.
  • Security vulnerabilities are identified and remediated proactively.
  • Development teams are empowered through self‑service platforms.
  • Operational load is manageable, with low‑toil, well‑documented systems and a healthy on‑call experience.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, with at least 1 year operating production Kubernetes environments at scale.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services (compute, storage, and security).
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (we use Terraform) and experience with multi‑account AWS environments.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, container orchestration, and security policies.
  • Proven expertise in GitOps methodologies and CI/CD automation.
  • Strong scripting/programming skills for automation and tooling (Python preferred).
  • Solid understanding of modern monitoring and observability stacks.
  • Strong Linux administration skills and command‑line proficiency.
  • Good understanding of security best practices, compliance considerations, and secrets management.
  • Comfort working with core networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers).
  • Experience managing infrastructure for microservices‑based and serverless architectures.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving skills and strong collaboration abilities.
Nice to Have (but not required):
  • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus — we do not expect you to tick every box:
  • Exposure to AWS CDK, CDKTF, and AWS Organizations.
  • Experience with Terragrunt or similar tooling for managing multi‑account Terraform.
  • Familiarity with streaming platforms (Kafka, Redpanda) and Change Data Capture (Debezium).
  • Deeper expertise in cloud networking (advanced routing, hybrid networking, multi‑region connectivity).
  • Interest in cost optimization strategies and FinOps practices.
  • Familiarity with code quality and security scanning tools (SonarQube, Trivy, Checkov).
