About the Opportunity
Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Data Platform is responsible for designing and implementing AI-powered data platform solutions directly within the client's environment. This role combines expertise in Google Cloud, data architecture, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to build scalable and production‑ready solutions that enable AI‑powered self‑service analytics.
Working closely with the client's technical teams, the engineer will define reference architectures, build reusable AI components, ensure compliance with governance and security requirements, and provide technical guidance throughout the implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the integration between Google Gemini and BigQuery, including consumption patterns, prompt engineering, function calling, semantic search over tables, query cost controls, and integration with additional data sources and contexts as required by the client.
- Model and optimize the datasets that will support AI‑powered self‑service analytics by applying dimensional modeling best practices (Kimball/Data Vault), defining data access layers, and identifying AI‑ready tables and views from both technical and performance perspectives.
- Build proof of concepts (PoCs) and reference architecture patterns to be adopted by the client's technical teams, including RAG pipelines over metadata, parameterized queries, reusable integrations, and notebook templates.
- Work closely with the client's governance and security teams to ensure solutions comply with LGPD, banking secrecy requirements, and internal security policies.
- Establish the evaluation framework for the solution, including LLM evals, hallucination tracking, and accuracy metrics to continuously monitor the quality of Gemini‑generated responses.
- Provide technical support to the Data Specialist and the client's technical teams through pair programming, code reviews, and technical mentoring.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery and Vertex AI.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience building integrations with Large Language Models (LLMs), including function calling, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and evaluation frameworks.
- Familiarity with production data architecture patterns.
- Strong technical autonomy and the ability to make decisions in client‑facing environments.
- Previous experience working in the fintech industry.
