Job description

USD 18 - 18 Hourly Senior Level Finance and Accounting

About the Job

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Modeling & Planning, to join the Office of the CEO (OCEO). Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, this senior role owns the intelligence layer of the office, turning raw performance data into decision-ready insight through reporting, synthesis, financial modeling, and strategic analysis. The role works with Finance, not around it: Finance retains ownership of accounting, controls, and reporting, while this seat turns that data into the CEO’s view of how the company is performing and the analysis behind how to grow it. This is not a traditional FP&A role. We are looking for a builder and a thinker, not simply a reporter, someone who combines a strong accounting foundation with sophisticated FP&A capabilities, commercial judgment, and a practical command of AI and automation. The ideal candidate asks not only “Are the numbers right?” but also “What are the numbers telling us, what happens next, and what should we do about it?” This is a hands‑on role in a growing, entrepreneurial company, working directly with the Founder & CEO and the management team.

Responsibilities
  • FP&A & Strategic Finance
  • Build and maintain client’s financial model, annual budget, and rolling forecasts, along with the financial processes and infrastructure needed to scale as client grows.
  • Develop scenarios around company growth, pricing, retention, revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, hiring, and cash requirements.
  • Build forward‑looking forecasts that allow management to understand the financial implications of different strategic decisions.
  • Analyze SaaS and recurring‑revenue metrics, unit economics, gross margins, customer acquisition, retention, churn, and operating leverage.
  • Help management understand the key drivers of profitability and cash generation as the business scales.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and identify risks and opportunities before they become obvious in the financial statements.
  • Modeling, Transactions & Strategy
  • Build scenario models, investment cases, and diligence for any deal, M&A initiative, or capital raise.
  • Work transactions from inside the office, including diligence, modeling, integration planning, and the information flow around a transaction.
  • Run growth and strategic analysis, and lead cross‑functional initiatives alongside the CEO.
  • Own discrete strategic projects assigned by the CEO from analysis through recommendation.
  • Reporting & Executive Communication.
  • Deliver recurring performance packs, management dashboards, and tracking of progress against company priorities.
  • Develop management reporting that clearly explains what is happening in the business, why it is happening, and what management should be paying attention to.
  • Prepare decision‑ready financial briefings and quantitative analysis ahead of key CEO decisions, and own preparation for executive leadership quarterly meetings.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support directly to the CEO and management team.
  • Support board and investor reporting, presenting the company’s financial performance and outlook clearly and professionally.
  • AI, Automation & Systems
  • Use AI to accelerate financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and management insight.
  • Reduce manual work and dependence on spreadsheets so the finance function can scale without adding unnecessary headcount.
  • Integrate financial and operating data to create more timely and useful management information.
  • Continually evaluate new financial, analytical, data, and AI tools, and stay intellectually curious about how AI will change accounting and finance.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 7–10 years of relevant finance experience, built on a strong accounting, Controller, public accounting, and/or audit foundation.
  • Meaningful FP&A experience, including financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Experience with SaaS, subscription, or other recurring‑revenue business models strongly preferred, including ARR/MRR, retention and churn, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, cohort economics, pricing, and recurring‑revenue forecasting.
  • Experience in a high‑growth, entrepreneurial, or technology‑enabled business, or a similarly dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of cash flow, margins, unit economics, and the financial drivers of a growing business.
  • Experience developing management reporting and financial dashboards.
  • Demonstrated interest in and practical use of AI, automation, and modern financial technology.
  • Ability to turn financial information into clear business recommendations, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence to challenge assumptions while working constructively with founders and other members of management.
  • Intellectually curious, commercially minded, highly analytical, and comfortable with ambiguity — a natural builder who sees an inefficient process and wants to improve it.
  • Ability to operate independently in a virtual environment.
  • CPA helpful, but not essential.
