Aurora's modelling team create and maintain the energy models that underpin our subscription analytics, advisory, and software offerings.
Based in São Paulo and focused on the Americas power markets, successful candidates will work in a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment that values collaboration, learning and mutual support.
They will contribute to our energy modelling efforts in the Americas by combining energy market knowledge with state-of-the-art modelling techniques.
They will be given the opportunity to lead model development projects, mentor junior colleagues, and shape the direction of the modelling team.

The position suits an experienced Modeller / Quantitative analyst from a strategic or economic consultancy, energy company, financial services company, or knowledge-focused firm or institution.
We're looking for candidates who bring both technical expertise and a collaborative leadership style, with a proven ability to support and inspire teams toward dependable, high-quality outcomes.
Leading the development of features that capture complex market dynamics within Aurora's models
Work closely with our Research and Advisory teams to derive insights from model results
Contributing to the continuous improvement of how the modelling team operates
Managing a team of junior colleagues and supporting their development
Relevant degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics
Minimum 3 years of experience in developing models or software in a commercial environment
Management experience
Problem-solving skills and analytical ability
Fluent English (C1 level or above) -

Experience in the field of mathematical optimization (Linear Programming, Dynamic programming, MIP etc.) in a commercial environment
Experience of developing power market models
Good Python programming skills
