A global engineering company is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to lead major pursuits within the Resources Sector. The ideal candidate will possess over 20 years of experience in business development, with a proven track record in driving client relationships and leading major projects. This bilingual role requires fluency in English and Spanish and includes responsibilities such as developing company goals, managing complex projects, and collaborating with executive management. The position is based in São Paulo, Brazil.
Management Level: Senior Director.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development professional responsible for major pursuits, where the end model will be Full Project Delivery (EPCM or EPC). This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying potential partners and negotiating agreements, working with other departments to ensure alignment of company goals, and ensuring business growth strategies are met.
Must currently live in or willing to relocate to Santiago, Chile or Buenos Aires, Argentina or Sao Paulo, Brazil. Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
Directs, establishes, maintains, and plans the overall policies and goals for the Resources (Mining) Sector.
Operational leaders implementing strategies within a complex area requiring a broad grasp of practices or principles in a highly specialized field or in cross-functional setting. May lead a defined business area, a series of major pursuits, or lead a major project if successful in the Sales process. Frequently integrates with other functions to drive broader work strategies which may impact Worley. Directly accountable for one or more major pursuits. Will have a high degree of autonomy operating within general management direction and functional policies.
Develops and oversees implementation of strategic programs and policies for their Sector, which will have impact on the overall organization; Ability to manage multiple complex projects through others; Works frequently with executive management on significant matters influencing the organization’s business results, which typically include global strategies.
Operates with broad management authority. Limited only by general objectives and policies of the organization. Work is reviewed to ensure company direction meets company vision and mission.
Typically has indirect reports.
Effectively communicate and present complex proposals and reports to executive level management and / or the Board. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach. Proven leadership skills in multi-cultural / national environments.
Expert understanding of broader systems, processes and tools related to field. Able to teach and help others.
University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Typically 20+ years relevant experience, including having won and / or delivered a major project in the Resources Sector.
Bilingual English / Spanish.
