Job summary

Security Joes, a global remote cybersecurity company, seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to design, secure, and operate the infrastructure behind our Security Operations platform. This hands-on role collaborates with product development and our senior engineer to share ownership of cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, security controls, and reliability.

About the role

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building, securing, and operating the infrastructure behind our new Security Operations platform. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility and direct impact on a growing product.You will work closely with our product development team and alongside our existing Senior DevSecOps Engineer, sharing ownership of our cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, security controls, monitoring, and operational reliability.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, secure, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure for our Security Operations platform
• Work closely with developers to embed security, reliability, and operational best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Manage containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or similar technologies
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities
• Manage identity and access controls, secrets, encryption, network security, and segmentation
• Automate infrastructure, deployment, and security processes using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
• Support cloud security, vulnerability management, system hardening, and remediation efforts
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues in collaboration with the development team
• Maintain clear technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident runbooks
• Collaborate across time zones to ensure knowledge sharing, continuity, and reliable global infrastructure coverage
• Contribute to infrastructure planning, technical roadmaps, and security-related decisions as the product scales

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, or a related role
• Strong production experience with AWS and/or Azure
• Hands‑on experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of Linux environments, cloud networking, IAM, access controls, and secrets management
• Solid knowledge of security principles, including secure SDLC, threat modeling, encryption, vulnerability management, and infrastructure hardening
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting production environments
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar languages
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• High level of ownership and the ability to work independently in a distributed environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
