Responsibilities include working with developers on migration tools, solving customer migration issues, and leveraging AWS services. The ideal candidate has strong English proficiency, over 6 years of relevant experience, AWS certifications, and expertise in database technologies. Responsabilidades

• Work with developers to design and refine tools for migration.
• Test tools for quality and performance improvements.
• Assist customers in using our tools for data movement.
• Help customers solve complex migration issues.
• Gather feedback to improve tool quality.
• Work with various AWS Services.

Conhecimentos

Advanced English skills

6+ years as a DBA or similar

AWS Certifications

Experience with multiple relational databases

Deep knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL Internals

Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering

Deep understanding of data replication

Experience coding in PL-SQL, T-SQL

Experience of AWS database migration software

Experience with software development methodologies

Deep knowledge of either PostgreSQL, MongoDB or DB2

Understanding of the Enterprise services space

Experience migrating databases from on-prem to cloud

Senior Database Administrator at Thoughtworks are engineers who execute complex database migrations and optimizations, configuring replication/CDC, performing schema and query conversion, validating performance and integrity, and automating runbooks and observability to ensure safe cutovers and stable post-migration operations. They are the anchor for functional streams of work and are accountable for timely delivery. They work on the latest data tools, frameworks and offerings, while also being involved in enabling credible and collaborative problem solving to execute on a strategy.

Job responsibilities

• Working with developers to refine and design tools migration and replication tools used by our customers.
• Testing our tools to improve quality, performance, and scalability.
• Helping customers leverage our tools for moving data into and around the AWS ecosystem.
• Working with customers to solve complex migration and replication problems.
• Gathering feedback to drive improvements in the quality and functionality of our tools.
• Working with AWS Services: DMS, SCT, RDS, Aurora, Redshift, S3, Kinesis, EC2, MSK

Job qualifications

Technical Skills

• Advanced English skills
• 6+ years as a DBA, Database Engineer, or similar role is required
• AWS Certifications: Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional. Secondary: Data Engineer – Associate, Security – Specialty
• Experience with multiple relational databases
• Deep knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL Internals
• Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Deep understanding of data replication with experience in at least one replication technology
• General knowledge of the various types data stores: relational, data warehouse, file stores etc
• Experience coding in PL-SQL, T-SQL, or similar
• Experience of AWS database migration software and technologies (DMS, SCT)
• Experience with software development methodologies and programming languages such as Java or C#
• Deep knowledge of either PostgreSQL, MongoDB or DB2.
• Understanding of the Enterprise services space, particularly database and analytics
• Experience migrating databases from on-prem to cloud or running in a hybrid cloud environment
