Shift Technology is seeking a Data Science deployment engineer to bring CFD solutions to new clients in Brazil. You will manage ETL pipelines, deploy fraud detection models, and drive continuous improvement across client environments.

You will collaborate with a global team, mentor junior data scientists, and engage with stakeholders to align roadmaps and report results. Fluency in English is required.

Qualificações

About the Team

This role is part of the Data Science team, which is the largest department in our organization, consisting of close to 200 Data Scientists throughout the world.

Our Data Scientists work in a full‑lifecycle role across a broad range of subjects, acquiring extensive technical and professional experience in data science, data engineering, software engineering, business understanding, and client engagement.

• The Data Science team actively participates in the definition and development of our suite of products focused on fraud detection, anti‑money laundering, and claim automation.
• We possess deep technical and professional experience across coding, data science, data engineering, and client interactions.
• We work with a highly diverse set of data types, including structured data, free text, documents, and images.

• You will work alongside technical experts, playing a key role in deploying our enterprise‑level solutions to our clients.
• Local Context: You will be joining the Brazilian Data Science team, which works mostly for US Property & Casualty (P&C) customers. Our main focus is deploying solutions to new clients, maintaining client production, and contributing to the development of our Fraud Detection Solution.

Role Purpose & Responsibilities

Your primary purpose is to deploy Shift Technology’s solutions to new clients and maintain the solution for existing clients, which includes managing data pipelines, executing ETL processes, and developing, testing, tuning, and deploying fraud detection models.

You will be in charge of a designated pod of clients and execute the following duties:

• Client Implementation: Implement Claim Fraud Detection (CFD) for new clients, focusing on ETL setup, detection implementation, and workflow automation.
• Feature Deployment: Roll out new platform features to existing clients.
• Optimization: Drive continuous improvements across existing client environments and pipelines.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with internal and external stakeholders to define client roadmaps, collect user feedback, present business cases, and report regularly on solution performance.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Actively mentor more junior data scientists on the team.

Requirements & Skills

We are looking for a professional with 3+ years of experience in a similar role (deployment engineering, data science, data engineering, or software engineering).

• Software Engineering: A strong background in an OOP language (such as C#, C/C++, or Java) and SQL. We thrive on people who can write maintainable, production‑quality code that runs every day without breaking.
• AI Competency: AI‑savvy with a clear understanding of statistics, machine learning, and data solutions. Must be able to communicate these concepts internally and explain how the product works to clients.
• Client Interaction: Client‑facing comfort. You need to be open to communicating directly with our clients on a regular basis.
• Business Acumen: Business smart. We do not expect prior knowledge of the insurance sector, but you must be eager to learn and master the business aspects of our products.
• Collaboration: A dedicated team player who works effectively with a diverse group of people and collaborates well across multiple teams.
• Autonomy & Proactivity: Demonstrate a high level of autonomy, effectively anticipating risks, making informed decisions, and ensuring clear, consistent reporting and visibility for leadership and stakeholders.
• Language: Fluency in English alongside good overall communication skills is a strict requirement.
