Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to build scalable data platform capabilities with governance automation. Lead secure APIs and data tooling for enterprise/AI apps, while ensuring least-privilege security and observability.

You’ll collaborate with governance teams, PMs, and engineers across environments, mentoring others and delivering production-grade solutions with robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Data Engineering/Engineering or STEM fields.
• 5+ years software/data engineering experience.
• 5+ years with Python, SQL, distributed processing, data modeling and modern data engineering frameworks.
• Cloud data platforms, data catalogs, metadata, lineage, data quality, access controls.
• Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Data Lake, Spark or equivalents.
• CI/CD, automated testing, environment separation, production deployment.
• Experience building secure APIs, MCP servers, or tools for enterprise/AI-enabled apps.
• RBAC, secrets, least-privilege security; full lifecycle ownership.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure APIs and integrations for enterprise/AI apps.
• Design reusable, configuration-driven patterns for governed data/services.

• Collaborate with domain experts and governance teams to ensure controls.
• Establish observability for platform health and data quality.
• Own production-quality code, tests, documentation, and ops guidance.
• Mentor engineers and guide technical direction across teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to build secure, scalable data platform capabilities and automate data governance controls.

MUST HAVES

• Bachelor's in CS/Data Engineering/Software Engineering/related STEM (or Bachelor's + Master's/higher in STEM)
• 5+ years software/data engineering experience (or equivalent demonstrated skill)
• 5+ years with Python, SQL, distributed processing, data modeling, modern data engineering frameworks
• Strong experience with cloud data platforms, data catalogs, metadata, lineage, data quality, access controls
• Databricks, Unity Catalog, Data Lake, Apache Spark, or comparable
• CI/CD, automated testing, environment separation, production deployment
• Experience building secure APIs, MCP servers, or tools for enterprise/AI-enabled apps
• Enterprise identity, RBAC, service accounts, secrets, least-privilege security
• Full lifecycle experience: architecture → development → deployment → production support
• Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• GitLab CI/CD or comparable
• Policy-as-code, infrastructure-as-code, configuration-driven platforms
• Experience building data marketplaces, governance platforms, or internal developer platforms
• Familiarity with privacy/security/regulatory/AI governance controls
• Experience in regulated or risk-sensitive environments
