Velozient is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer in Brazil to design, implement, and optimize Azure infrastructure and automation. You will work with development teams to enable self-service capabilities, deploy IaC using Bicep and Terraform, and build robust CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.

The role requires 5+ years of Azure experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate between Azure networking, identity, and deployment workflows while coordinating with application

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and improve Azure infrastructure and supporting automation
• Build reusable GitHub Actions, deployment workflows, and self-service engineering tools
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Bicep and Terraform
• Automate infrastructure and operational workflows using PowerShell, Azure CLI, APIs, and application code where appropriate
• Improve existing infrastructure and automation that may already be partially implemented, taking solutions from proof-of-concept or incomplete states through production-ready completion
• Work with development teams to understand their applications, infrastructure requirements, and deployment models
• Help teams solve difficult cloud, networking, identity, and deployment issues without taking operational ownership away from the teams themselves
• Support Azure tenant, subscription, and workload migrations in partnership with application teams
• Help establish repeatable patterns for provisioning databases, application infrastructure, networking, DNS, identity, configuration, and related cloud resources
• Improve infrastructure deployment through Octopus Deploy, including increased use of infrastructure-as-code and repeatable deployment processes
• Work with Cloudflare, Terraform, and related tooling to improve DNS, routing, TLS, load balancing, and application connectivity patterns.
• Assist with the gradual simplification and cleanup of a smaller AWS footprint
• Evaluate technical approaches, identify trade‑offs and limitations, and make pragmatic recommendations before implementation

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with 5+ years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience and a software engineering mindset.

This is not a traditional ticket-driven DevOps role. The engineer will work with development teams to improve cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, infrastructure-as-code, and self-service engineering capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical generalist who can take a desired outcome, understand an existing environment, research unfamiliar areas when necessary, evaluate options, and independently drive work from an incomplete starting point through completion.

Must be comfortable moving between Azure infrastructure, networking, identity, deployment tooling, GitHub Actions, infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and application teams depending on the problem being solved.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure
• Strong understanding of Azure architecture and common Azure services
• Experience with Azure subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, service principals, and Key Vault
• Practical Azure networking experience, including VNETs, subnets, NSGs, DNS, VPNs, private endpoints, public/private connectivity, and firewall concepts
• Experience with Azure SQL and related Azure database infrastructure.
• Experience with Azure PaaS and container-based application hosting
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD automation.
• Experience writing automation or software using at least one general‑purpose language or scripting environment such as PowerShell, C#, or Python
• Ability to understand existing infrastructure and deployment environments rather than working only with greenfield systems
• Ability to independently research unfamiliar technologies, validate proposed approaches, and clearly communicate findings and recommendations
• Ability to work from goals and technical direction without requiring detailed step‑by‑step implementation instructions
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and deployment systems
• Strong communication skills when working directly with software engineers and senior technical staff.

Desired Experience

• Hands‑on Octopus Deploy experience
• Experience with Azure Container Apps
• Experience building reusable or self‑service infrastructure capabilities for development teams
• Experience supporting migrations between Azure tenants or subscriptions
• Experience with Cloudflare, including DNS, proxying, load balancing, or related services
• Experience with Terraform‑based Cloudflare management
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments
• Experience with Datadog or similar observability platforms
• AWS experience
• Experience simplifying or migrating mixed‑cloud environments
• Experience with GitHub APIs or building automation around GitHub repositories and workflows
• Experience designing developer‑facing infrastructure tooling or internal engineering platforms
