Velozient is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer for a remote, full-time role supporting a U.S. client.

You will manage on-premise, virtualized, and cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability and scalability, including Windows and Red Hat systems, VMware, backup, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in cloud/infra, strong Microsoft/Linux hands-on experience, and proficiency with automation scripting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cloud engineering, systems engineering, or similar roles.
• Hands-on admin of Microsoft infrastructure and Windows Server.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, VMware, and DR solutions (Veeam/Zerto).
• Cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and automation scripting.
• English communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and support infrastructure across on-premise, virtualized, and cloud environments.
• Manage Windows Server and Red Hat systems, including patching and upgrades.
• Maintain VMware environments for availability and performance.
• Configure backup/recovery using Veeam and Zerto; test DR procedures.
• Configure VPN and SD-WAN; manage storage provisioning and performance.
• Support legacy apps (e.g., .NET) and monitor system health across IT stack.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell, Bash, Python; document configurations.

• We are looking for a remote, full-time Senior Cloud Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and scalability of our U.S. client's infrastructure. This role requires an experienced engineer who is comfortable managing legacy enterprise technologies while supporting the adoption of modern cloud platforms and practices.
• The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, Red Hat Linux, VMware, backup and replication platforms, networking, and storage. You should be able to work independently, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and help ensure business continuity across on-premises and cloud environments.

• Responsibilities
• Design, implement, administer, and support infrastructure across on-premise, virtualized, and cloud environments
• Manage Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Maintain and optimize VMware environments to support availability, performance, and efficient resource utilization
• Configure and manage backup, recovery, and replication solutions using Veeam and Zerto
• Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery procedures that support business continuity requirements
• Configure and troubleshoot VPN connectivity, SD-WAN technologies, and related network infrastructure
• Manage storage systems, including provisioning, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Support infrastructure hosting legacy applications, including applications built on Microsoft .NET
• Monitor system health, investigate incidents, and resolve complex issues across servers, networks, storage, and cloud services
• Automate routine administration and deployment tasks using scripting and infrastructure management tools
• Collaborate with application and IT teams on infrastructure improvements, migrations, and modernization initiatives
• Maintain clear documentation of infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, and recovery plans
• Required Experience
• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a similar role
• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Strong experience managing VMware virtualization environments
• Hands-on experience with Veeam backup and recovery, Zerto replication and disaster recovery, or similar technologies
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting VPN and SD-WAN technologies
• Experience managing enterprise storage and its integration with server and virtualization environments
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Ability to support legacy infrastructure while contributing to cloud migration and modernization efforts
• Experience automating infrastructure tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to take ownership of complex technical issues
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
• Proven delivery experience in a vibrant, dynamic environment

• Preferred Experience
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies, Red Hat Linux, VMware, Veeam, Zerto, networking, storage, or cloud infrastructure
• Experience implementing infrastructure security controls, including access management, system hardening, network segmentation, and vulnerability remediation
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools
