A leading company in procurement is seeking a Senior Buyer based in Salvador, Brazil. This critical role involves executing category strategies through supplier management and strategic sourcing. The ideal candidate will have 4–7 years of procurement experience, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and excel in stakeholder engagement. The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in developing and executing category strategies through in-depth analysis and supplier management. This role leads sourcing activities for assigned sub-categories and suppliers, driving cost optimization, performance improvements, and strategic supplier relationships. The Senior Buyer partners cross-functionally to ensure alignment with business goals and procurement best practices.
Conduct detailed quantitative analysis using Excel and / or Access to support sourcing decisions.
Develop comprehensive category and supplier profiles.
Perform supply market analysis and benchmark studies to inform strategy.
Build and manage cost models and business cases independently.
Lead supplier relationship management for assigned sub-categories.
Maintain accurate supplier scorecards and performance data.
Support and lead negotiations using advanced tools and techniques.
Develop and implement sub-category strategies aligned with company objectives.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout sourcing processes, including gate reviews.
Facilitate cross-functional engagement to ensure alignment and successful execution of sourcing initiatives.
Execute sourcing and product lifecycle projects independently.
Track and report procurement performance metrics.
Support risk and compliance program management.
Demonstrate mastery of strategic sourcing processes and tools.
Manage and develop Buyer(s), providing coaching and guidance to enhance team capabilities.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or Business.
4–7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations with a track record of successful project management.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel / Access beyond basic data entry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to drive change in a decentralized environment.
Strong decision-making and prioritization abilities.
Experience managing supplier relationships and conducting negotiations.
Familiarity with finished goods suppliers and co-packers.
Datasul totvs, Ariba and / or SAP experience.
Strong facilitation and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Solid understanding of cost structures, working capital, and financial metrics.
Experience with e-Procurement and e-Sourcing tools.
