A technology solutions firm is seeking an ITS Business Analyst (Analytics) to support a critical analytics and data-platform transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of business analysis experience, strong SQL skills, and exposure to cloud-based analytics environments. This role will involve application rationalization and data migration efforts within SAP S/4HANA and Snowflake. This is a remote position available for a duration of 18 weeks without benefits.

Job Title: ITS Business Analyst (Analytics)

Duration: 18 weeks (Independant Contractor) without benefits

Work Model: Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ITS Business Analyst (Analytics) to support a critical analytics and data-platform transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of business analysis experience, strong SQL expertise, and hands‑on exposure to cloud‑based analytics environments.

This role will play a key part in application rationalization and data migration efforts, including the transition from SAP S/4HANA to Snowflake. You will assess current‑state analytics solutions, identify data gaps, and support the rebuilding and repointing of dashboards and reports to the future‑state data platform.

Agile/Scrum experience is preferred, though Waterfall experience is acceptable.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements for analytics and reporting solutions.
• Review existing analytics applications and support application rationalization initiatives.
• Assess current‑state SAP S/4HANA/HANA data sources and identify future‑state data gaps as systems migrate to Snowflake.
• Support the repointing and rebuilding of dashboards and reports to new cloud data sources.
• Translate business needs into clear data, reporting, and KPI requirements.
• Work closely with data engineers, architects, and analytics teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Perform day‑to‑day SQL analysis to validate data, investigate issues, and support insights.
• Create user stories, functional specifications, and process flows for analytics initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to understand business processes and identify optimization opportunities.
• Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to measure the success of analytics solutions.
• Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Support data governance practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in analytics or data‑driven environments.
• Strong SQL proficiency with hands‑on experience querying and validating data.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and data warehouses (Azure and/or Snowflake preferred).
• Experience supporting analytics projects with an understanding of data modeling concepts (hands‑on modeling not required).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies (Waterfall experience acceptable).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data modeling and ETL concepts.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA or HANA‑based reporting environments.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis or machine learning concepts.
• Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, or similar.
