Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Apache Iceberg Developer to drive distributed table formats and metadata management across our data platforms. You will contribute to Iceberg and related ecosystems, focusing on schema evolution, partitioning, and scalable architecture.

You will lead efforts on integration with Spark, Flink, and Hive for both batch and streaming workloads, while optimizing metadata-heavy operations and large tables to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in distributed computing and large-scale data systems.
• Deep understanding of Apache Iceberg architecture, schema evolution, and partitioning.
• Proficiency in Java (primary), and Scala or Python for integrations.
• Core contributions to Apache open source projects (Iceberg, Spark, Hive, Flink) are a plus.
• Advanced level of English.

Responsibilities

• Contribute actively to Apache Iceberg and related open source projects as a core contributor.
