Jobgether SRL seeks a Senior AI Engineer in Brazil to design, build, and operate scalable AI-powered products. You will own production-grade AI systems, including agent identities, skills, tool integrations, and structured outputs within a configurable AI platform.

You will lead system prompt design, context injection, memory management, and structured response generation while evaluating models for quality, latency, and cost. Collaboration with software, data, and product teams is essential.

This role is designed for an experienced AI engineer who wants to build and operate advanced agentic AI systems in a fast-moving environment.
You will contribute to the development of production-grade AI products that automate complex business workflows and deliver measurable impact.
The position combines software engineering excellence with modern AI practices, including LLM applications, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and intelligent automation.
You will work across the entire AI product lifecycle, from designing solutions and integrating tools to monitoring performance in production.
The role offers the opportunity to shape scalable AI platforms while collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams.
You will have significant ownership, autonomy, and influence in defining how AI solutions are built, evaluated, and improved.

Accountabilities:

The Senior AI Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating scalable AI-powered products, ensuring reliability, quality, and continuous improvement across the full AI lifecycle. The role requires strong technical ownership, from solution design through production deployment and optimization.

• Design, develop, and deliver agentic AI products, including agent identities, reusable skills, tool integrations, and structured outputs within a configurable AI platform.
• Build advanced prompt and context engineering solutions, including system prompt design, data-driven context injection, memory management, and structured response generation.
• Develop and integrate AI tools connected to internal systems, databases, and external platforms using modern agent integration approaches.
• Create and maintain evaluation frameworks, including LLM-as-judge systems, regression benchmarks, quality metrics, and validation processes to ensure trustworthy AI outputs.
• Work with multiple large language model providers, selecting and optimizing models based on quality, latency, reliability, and cost considerations.
• Improve production AI systems through monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data teams, and product stakeholders to deliver complete AI solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, models, and frameworks, applying relevant innovations to improve platform capabilities.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, testing, and engineering practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has strong software engineering experience combined with hands‑on expertise building production AI applications. This role requires technical depth, problem‑solving ability, and the autonomy to manage complex projects from concept to delivery.

• Strong programming skills in Python, including modern asynchronous Python development for production services.
• Proven experience building and deploying LLM‑powered applications, including AI agents, tool usage, function calling, prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and structured outputs.
• Experience working with major LLM providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or similar platforms, with knowledge of model capabilities and trade‑offs.
• Experience with FastAPI or equivalent modern web frameworks, along with Pydantic and API development practices.
• Understanding of AI evaluation methodologies, including offline evaluations, benchmarking, regression testing, and quality measurement.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerized environments, including Docker‑based deployments.
• Familiarity with production databases such as MongoDB, SQL‑based systems, or data platforms.
• Experience with software testing practices, CI/CD workflows, and maintaining reliable production systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, ownership mindset, and ability to independently solve complex technical challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar AI agent integration standards.
• Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Loki, or structured logging solutions.
• Experience with advanced data platforms, including Databricks capabilities beyond SQL.
• Experience launching products or systems from concept to production in a rapidly changing environment.
• Knowledge of classification pipelines, fine‑tuning approaches, or AI optimization techniques.
• Contributions to open‑source AI projects or developer communities.
