A leading vision care company in Brazil is seeking an experienced accountant to perform complex financial reporting and compliance tasks. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, at least 4 years of relevant experience, and strong proficiency in GAAP. You will work with auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and assist in the training of personnel. The position offers a salary range of $63,000.00 to $108,675.00.

Perform complex professional accounting work in recording and reporting of financial transactions; prepare financial statements, insurance department and other regulatory filings, and perform analyses.

• Ensure timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity.
• Prepare work papers, financial statements, and various reports for internal accounting and auditing.
• Research and analyze fluctuations between current financial results and prior year/month/budgeted amounts.
• Work with independent auditors and insurance department auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Prepare the insurance department's quarterly and annual statements, including conversion from GAAP to statutory accounting.
• Recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures.
• Assist business partners with budget activity, proper expenditure coding, document preparation, and other accounting-related activities.
• Review the work completed by bookkeepers, bank reconcilers, and accounts payable clerks to ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Assist in the training of technical and clerical personnel.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of accounting-related experience, including working in a lead and/or training capacity.
• 4+ years of experience using accounting and auditing principles and practices, including GAAP and statutory accounting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in spreadsheet applications.
• Clean credit history as reported by credit report.
• Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.

Salary Ranges: $63,000.00 – $108,675.00
