Job summary

HCLTech in Brazil seeks an experienced SAP HANA Database Administrator to ensure availability, performance and reliability of SAP HANA systems in production environments.

You will monitor health, apply patches, manage backups and DR, and collaborate with SAP, infra and engineering teams to implement changes. The role requires Linux scripting, cloud deployment knowledge (Azure/AWS/GCP) and a strong incident/change management mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven SAP HANA database admin in production support.
• Linux admin and scripting for ops.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support SAP HANA databases to ensure availability, reliability, and performance in production environments.
• Monitor database systems and respond to incidents, alerts, and service degradations promptly.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and version management per processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, failures, and escalated incidents.
• Support backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery operations.
• Automate recurring operational tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with SAP, infra and engineering teams to plan and implement changes.
• Contribute to runbooks and standard procedures for ongoing support.
• Identify opportunities to improve stability, scalability, and operational maturity.

Job description

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience administering SAP HANA databases in operational or production support roles
• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts
• Experience monitoring database health, performance, availability, and capacity
• Hands-on experience with patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management for SAP HANA systems
• Familiarity with Linux administration and scripting for operational support.
• Strong understanding of operational support models, incident handling, and change execution
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and SAP HANA deployments on Azure, AWS, or GCP

Desired Skills

• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies
• Experience with SAP HANA Cloud
• Experience supporting large-scale or business-critical production environments
• Understanding of change management, incident management, and problem management processes
• Familiarity with related technologies such as Hadoop, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cassandra, or Kafka
• Experience working in cross-functional environments with engineering, SAP application, and platform teams
• Understanding of service reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement practices

• Collaborate with SAP, infrastructure, and engineering teams to plan and implement database changes
• Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and standard procedures for ongoing support
• Identify opportunities to improve database stability, scalability, and operational maturity
