Overview

As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for providing technical and functional presales support to potential customers, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction. You will deliver compelling, high-quality presentations and product demonstrations. Leadership, business acumen, and technical knowledge are essential qualities for this role. You will also act as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced members of the Sales Consulting team.

You will respond to technical and functional requests (RFIs/RFPs), perform technical qualification of opportunities, and conduct technical assessments for regional customers to identify sales opportunities. Once qualified, you will participate in the sales process by presenting solutions and product capabilities convincingly, developing and/or delivering customized demonstrations and proofs of concept (POCs) to meet customer requirements.

The ability to understand technical requirements and challenges and translate them into sales opportunities is crucial. You will work both independently and as part of a team, providing guidance and mentorship to others.

You will engage with key regional customers to discuss and support modernization and voice network lifecycle activities, helping influence and guide technology strategy and technical decisions. The focus will be on large or complex sales opportunities that require creative, integrated solutions.

You will also build strong, long-term relationships with key regional customers, driving business development, identifying new opportunities both within existing accounts and new prospects.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in presales or sales consulting roles.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, ideally in consultative or customer-facing strategic roles.
  • Experience with telecom/network enterprise billing.
  • Background working in a service provider/telco IT/OSS area or with a BSS/OSS software vendor.
  • Experience supporting account strategies, developing, and executing value hypotheses and business cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to generate actionable insights and clearly communicate complex ideas to senior customer executives, handling questions, and objections effectively.
  • Knowledge of network technologies, including Layer 2 & 3 VPNs / MPLS, Voice / VoIP, Metro Ethernet / Carrier Ethernet, DSL, Cable / DOCSIS, Mobile Networks, IPTV, and next-generation technologies such as IMS, LTE, and SDN/NFV, across various vendor environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with technologies such as Xquery/XSLT, XML, Web Services, JMS, Java, WebLogic/J2EE, Oracle Database, among others (preferred).
  • Experience with solution sizing and quotation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be independent, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
  • Willingness to travel 50%–70% of the time.
Responsibilities

As a Principal Master Sales Consultant, you will act as an expert responsible for defining and leading technical/functional presales support activities for potential customers, ensuring customer satisfaction. You will serve as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced Sales Consultants.

You will focus on large or complex sales opportunities requiring creative and sophisticated solutions. You will develop productivity tools and training programs for other Sales Consultants. You will design and deliver outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. You will lead all aspects of the technical sales process and advise internal and external clients on comprehensive architectural solutions.
