What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Oversee coding quality reviews and manage coding quality performance to meet organizational standards
  • Schedule Coders, DNFC Specialists, and Coding Coordinators to ensure productivity metrics are achieved
  • Provide performance management and corrective action for direct reports to maintain coding quality
  • Mentor Corporate Coding Supervisors, Coders, and other staff while facilitating coding education and training
  • Attend facility meetings to report on DNFC performance and be accountable for performance reporting to leadership
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or a related healthcare field
  • Minimum of four years of inpatient coding experience
  • One year of coding leadership experience
  • RHIT and/or CCS credential
  • Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding principles and regulatory requirements
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or a related healthcare field
  • Five or more years of inpatient coding experience
  • Five or more years of experience leading large coding teams in a complex health system
  • RHIA and CCS credentials
