What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Oversee coding quality reviews and manage coding quality performance to meet organizational standards
- Schedule Coders, DNFC Specialists, and Coding Coordinators to ensure productivity metrics are achieved
- Provide performance management and corrective action for direct reports to maintain coding quality
- Mentor Corporate Coding Supervisors, Coders, and other staff while facilitating coding education and training
- Attend facility meetings to report on DNFC performance and be accountable for performance reporting to leadership
What is Required (Qualifications)
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or a related healthcare field
- Minimum of four years of inpatient coding experience
- One year of coding leadership experience
- RHIT and/or CCS credential
- Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding principles and regulatory requirements
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or a related healthcare field
- Five or more years of inpatient coding experience
- Five or more years of experience leading large coding teams in a complex health system
- RHIA and CCS credentials
