We are seeking a Senior Accountant to perform strategic and operational functions within the accounting process. This position will be responsible for excellence in monthly accounting closures, variance analysis, reconciliations, and compliance with internal and regulatory policies.

You must ensure that all company policies are adhered to and that specific duties are carried out within set time limits whilst providing an excellent level of service to all Informa customers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

The Senior Accountant shall assume the following primary responsibilities, in addition to other activities compatible with the role that may be requested:

  • Ensure compliance of accounting operations with current fiscal and legal requirements, local accounting principles (BRGAAP), and international accounting standards (IFRS);
  • Execute and support the monthly accounting closure process through the performance of departmental routines and interaction with internal Finance teams;
  • Analyze variances in balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying significant deviations and proposing corrective actions when necessary;
  • Ensure that Balance Sheet reconciliations comply with accounting integrity guidelines and established internal control frameworks;
  • Ensure that any inconsistencies or issues are promptly communicated to direct leadership;
  • Be responsible for preparing financial reports and management analyses, including Group reporting, supplementary packages, and ad hoc requests;
  • Collaborate with external and internal audits, providing data, information, and clarifications related to balances and accounting processes;
  • Develop various accounting and management reports, evaluating the accuracy, consistency, and adequacy of recorded transactions.
  • To be involved with any acquisition integration/due diligence;
  • Working on projects within the SSC and department including key process testing & systems;
  • Assist in the accounting integration of new products into the SSC accounting structure and systems;
  • Analyse and solveAdhocproblems using knowledge of business and systems;
  • Process intercompany transactions;
  • Review bad debt, accruals and prepayment calculations;
People Management Responsibilities

  • Provide help and a buddy system to other members of the team;
Skills & Abilities
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, internal departments and key contacts.
  • Proficient skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential

Knowledge &Qualifications
  • Complete higher education degree in Accounting Sciences or currently pursuing such degree;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting field, with emphasis on accounting closure and management analysis;
  • Solid knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards (BR GAAP); knowledge of IFRS will be considered an advantage;
  • Experience with ERP systems - preferably Oracle;
  • Intermediate-Advanced English proficiency.
