GE Vernova seeks an ITR R&D Lead Electrical Engineer to drive the design and development of high‑voltage products, solutions and systems. You will oversee technical improvements and lead project planning within a disciplined engineering environment.

You will collaborate with global R&D teams, supervise documentation, and provide expert guidance to suppliers, while ensuring quality and on-time delivery of critical electrical designs. English and Portuguese proficiency required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor-level degree in engineering or physics-based field.
• Experience in medium-to-high voltage R&D and HV testing preferred.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Responsabilidades

• Set instrument transformer technology strategy and drive new product implementations.
• Participate in R&D activities within the unit and across global projects.
• Identify deficiencies and propose engineering improvements in manufacturing.
• Be responsible for electrical design of ITR products.
• Ensure high-quality technical documentation for manufacturing and sales.
• Lead development of new products and improvements, collaborating with the ITR team.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers and support manufacturing daily.
• Assist sales with proposals and non-standard requirements.
• Represent externally in IEC, Cigre, and IEEE committees.

Job Description

Essencial Responsibilities

• Setting the Instrument transformer technology strategy / new product implementations in Instrument transformer based on business vision of Product
• Participates in the R&D activities within the unit and across global R&D projects within ITR.
• Identifies manufacturing/engineering deficiencies, proposes solutions and improvements.
• Responsible for the electrical design of the products manufactured or designed in ITR unit.
• Ensures that all technical documentation, issued by the Engineering/R&D group, required for the manufacturing and sales of the products (drawings, bill of materials, instructions, manuals, material specifications etc.) is prepared in high quality, efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Leads the development of new products, improvement, and customization of existing products. Works closely with unit and ITR involved in the development process.
• Provides technical support in the resolution problems. Leverage advanced expertise to resolve non-conformance issues, lead root-cause investigations, and provide solutions for complex technical requirements.
• Provides technical guidance to suppliers, working closely with Supply Chain and Sourcing. Supports manufacturing on a daily basis.
• Supports the sales effort in the preparation of proposals and quotations in terms of review of non-standard requirements.
• External Representation: Participate in external technical committees (e.g., IEC, Cigre, IEEE) and at professional conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrotechnics, Physics, Chemistry.
• Experience in medium to high voltage apparatus R&D, engineering, HV testing are preferred.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English
