Descrição da oferta de emprego
Project Engineer, Smart Ag

Location: Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, BR

Workplace Type: Hybrid/Remote

Not everyone can claim to feed the world, but it is part of our everyday. Behind everything we do for our farmers, there is one AGCO team making it happen. We are proud to put our curiosity into work, building a better and more sustainable world. Join our extraordinary team today!

AGCO is currently seeking engineers to join our new “Smart Ag” innovation team in Jackson, MN. This team has a strong “Farmer First” focus with a high emphasis on identifying farmer’s problems or needs. Team members will lead the way on the rapid innovation and development of products with a direct return on investment for end users, separate from AGCO’s traditional engineering projects and processes. A high degree of ownership, flexibility, and a quick pace for exploration and development will be the norm for this group. Team members must be comfortable with a constantly changing design path and environment. The position offers a fun and fast paced environment typical of that in a “skunkworks” engineering department or startup company.

Your Impact

Acquire a deep understanding of agricultural systems and processes, identify and clearly communicate farmers’ problems, and demonstrate curiosity in delivering market-leading solutions using mechanical, electrical, and software technologies.

Be hands‑on during the design process, willing to work directly with equipment (“boots dirty”), and generate clear documentation and presentations of ideas and results.

Embrace failure as part of innovation, quickly pivoting to new ideas, and work effectively within a small, high‑performing team while closely collaborating with global electronics and software departments.

Maintain a positive attitude, foster a culture of innovation, and contribute to creating an environment that supports creative problem‑solving.

Be available for travel (~10%, up to 20% during application seasons) for training, team meetings, and fieldwork with equipment.

Benefits
  • Medical and dental assistance.
  • Meal and food vouchers.
  • Pharmacy agreement and life insurance.
  • Profit Sharing and AIP incentive plans.
Your Experience and Qualifications

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or other relevant technical fields, with applicable experience.

Mechanical Skills
  • 3D CAD experience (preferably Creo).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing practices, hands‑on work with equipment and machinery, and mechanical design experience involving castings, sheet metal, and plastics.
Electrical Skills
  • Experience in schematic and harness design (PCB design is a plus).
  • Working with sensors and integrating them into system designs.
Software Skills
  • Background in controller hardware specification, software architecture, coding, deployment, validation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with GUI development and programming languages such as C, C++, Visual Studio, Linux, Python, MATLAB; and familiarity with GitHub.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability or willingness to become proficient in mobile machinery communication protocols (SAE J1939, ISO 11783).
  • Knowledge of communication networks (CAN, Ethernet, Bluetooth).
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A valid passport for travel to the USA (considered a strong asset).

You will work with your wonderful AGCO colleagues in a Hybrid/Remote model from Mogi das Cruzes, BR.
