Private Advertiser is seeking a hands-on PLC Programmer to design, develop, commission and support automation and IoT-enabled monitoring systems for industrial equipment. You will handle PLC and HMI programming, field installation and data connectivity for remote monitoring.
The role requires 1–2 years of PLC experience, familiarity with Modbus/OPC UA/MQTT, and the ability to work at client sites in the North region of Brazil. A diploma in electrical/automation fields is expected.
About the role
We are seeking a hands-on PLC Programmer to design, develop, commission and support industrial automation and IoT-enabled monitoring systems. The role combines PLC and HMI programming with field installation, device connectivity, data acquisition, remote monitoring and technical support for mechanical equipment and process systems.
Key responsibilities
Translate client mechanical, electrical and operational requirements into practical control and automation solutions.
Design, develop and maintain PLC programs, including control sequences, interlocks, alarms and equipment operating logic.
Configure and integrate HMI and SCADA interfaces for machine operation, status monitoring, alarm handling and fault diagnosis.
Integrate sensors, actuators, variable-frequency drives, relays, meters, gateways and other field devices with PLC-based systems.
Connect PLCs and machines to IoT platforms for equipment data collection, remote monitoring, alerts and performance reporting.
Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC UA, MQTT, Ethernet/IP or equivalent protocols used by the project.
Set up device tags, gateways, dashboards and alert rules, and verify the accuracy and reliability of transmitted data.
Conduct factory and site testing, installation, commissioning and performance validation before client handover.
Troubleshoot PLC logic, HMI/SCADA, sensors, control panels, industrial networks, IoT gateways and cloud communication issues.
Apply basic cybersecurity practices, maintain program backups and technical records, and provide on-site or remote after-sales support when required.
About you
Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field; equivalent technical certification or relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
At least 1 to 2 years of practical experience in PLC programming, machine automation, control systems or industrial commissioning.
Working knowledge of at least one common PLC platform, such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider Electric, Allen-Bradley, Delta or an equivalent system.
Ability to read electrical drawings, understand I/O wiring and troubleshoot control panels, sensors and field devices.
Practical understanding of HMI/SCADA, industrial networking and communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA and MQTT.
Basic knowledge of IoT architecture, including sensors, edge devices or gateways, data transmission, dashboards and remote monitoring.
Able to work independently, diagnose problems systematically and travel to client sites for installation, commissioning and support.
Exposure to cloud or IoT platforms such as AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, ThingsBoard or equivalent solutions.
Experience with REST APIs, SQL or time-series data, Node-RED, Python or other tools used for equipment-data integration.
Experience in remote diagnostics, dashboard configuration, data logging, alarm notification or predictive-maintenance applications.
