A prominent educational institution in Brazil seeks a Network Engineer II to support their large university network infrastructure. This position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000.

The Network Engineer II utilizes multiple technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, and Extreme) to support a large university network infrastructure. Installs, sets up, and monitors the local area network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and wireless network (Wi-Fi). The Network Engineer II also performs a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and training tasks to ensure LAN performance meets university and user requirements.
Responsible for orienting and training others, and assigning and reviewing their work. May also be responsible for acting in a “lead” or “senior” capacity over other positions performing essentially the same work, or related technical tasks and reporting to a higher level on a formal basis.
Internal contacts include department’s management in pursuit of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement on the goals to meet needs dictated by the department. External contacts may include customers, vendors and the general public.
Bachelor’s degree desired in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related technical experience. At least five (4) years of experience and/or certifications in one or more of the following technologies: Cisco Systems; Aruba Wireless; Extreme Wireless; Cisco Wireless; Cisco Meraki. Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching. Good oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Preferred Knowledge/Experience: General Windows skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform network hardware installation which could include lifting, moving, and installing equipment up to 50 lbs.
