Network Automation Engineer

The Network Automation Engineer will design, build, and maintain robust automated test frameworks that ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of telecommunications systems. This role is responsible for integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and Xray to validate APIs, software components, and service workflows. The engineer will drive comprehensive test coverage across web, API, and network layers while ensuring full traceability from unit testing through acceptance testing. This position is critical to enabling continuous delivery and supporting high-quality software releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Python, Robot Framework, Pytest, Jinja2, and YANG models.
• Build reusable and modular test components with strong typing and clean architecture principles.
• Develop automated test cases for APIs, web interfaces, and network-level services.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub) and ensure seamless reporting and traceability within Xray.
• Implement BDD practices and contribute to high-quality test case design and documentation.
• Monitor automation pipelines, analyse regression results, troubleshoot failures, and maintain pipeline health.
• Leverage AI tools and contribute to full-stack development where needed, including backend, frontend, and database interactions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Python, Pytest, Robot Framework, Jinja2, and YANG.
• Experience designing end-to-end automated test frameworks and reusable test components.
• Solid understanding of API validation, service workflow testing, and web testing.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, GitLab, GitHub, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating automated tests into release pipelines, including reporting and gating strategies.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and ability to integrate AI capabilities into automation or applications.

Desirable Experience

• Telecommunications domain knowledge (network protocols, APIs, OSS/BSS workflows).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure‑as‑Code or network automation frameworks.
