Job summary

Sterlington PLLC is a full-service law firm seeking an experienced contract reviewer to own the final quality of commercial agreements in a 100% remote role. You will verify AI-assisted first passes, ensure adherence to client playbooks, and help refine AI workflows for faster, more accurate reviews.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in contract review (NDA focus), strong English, and the ability to work independently on EST hours. Remote, independent contractor role with growth potential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of legal contract review experience, including NDA reviews under US or UK law.
• Experience building or implementing AI automation for contract review.
• Strong background in high-volume commercial contract reviews.
• Ability to work from detailed client playbooks and escalate when needed.
• LL.M. from a US or UK institution preferred but not required.
• Remote work capability on a fixed schedule.
• Fluent written and spoken legal English.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial review of high-volume pipeline of commercial agreements (NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements) with rapid turnaround and client playbooks.
• Verify and correct AI-generated first-pass markup; final decisions rest on your judgment.
• Design, test, and refine AI-assisted workflows, prompts, and playbook logic for accuracy and speed.
• Apply legal playbooks consistently; escalate anything outside guidance to quality control.
• Identify confidentiality and commercial risks in standard transactions before QC.
• Maintain accurate ticket status and clean handoffs across shifts to stay on schedule.
• Manage a demanding queue with accuracy and turnaround in a fast-paced environment.

The Opportunity

This role gives you ownership of the final quality of every contract that goes out, reviewing at real volume and within firm turnaround windows, working alongside an AI-assisted first pass and applying your legal judgment against the client's playbook before handing off to quality control for final sign-off. Beyond review, you will help build and improve the AI workflows the team runs on, so the process gets faster and more accurate over time.

What You'll Do:

• Perform initial review of a high-volume pipeline of commercial agreements, specifically NDAs, master services agreements, and vendor arrangements, ensuring rapid turnaround and strict adherence to client-specific playbooks.
• Work within Sterlington's AI-powered review workflow, treating each AI-generated first-pass markup as a starting point you verify and correct, with every final call resting on your own legal judgment.
• Design, test, and refine AI-assisted workflows for contract review, including prompts, playbook logic, and process steps, working with the team to raise accuracy and turnaround over time.
• Apply legal playbooks accurately and consistently, escalating anything outside established guidance to quality control rather than deciding it independently.
• Identify and flag confidentiality and commercial risks within standard transactions, spotting non-standard terms before they reach quality control.
• Maintain accurate ticket status and clean handoffs across shifts, so turnaround stays on track for the next reviewer or QC.
• Manage a demanding, high-volume queue in a fast-paced review environment, delivering accuracy without sacrificing turnaround speed.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in legal contract review, including hands-on NDA review under US or UK law.
• Demonstrated experience building or implementing AI automation for a legal or contract review process, not only using AI tools day to day.
• Strong background in high-volume commercial contract review environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately from detailed legal playbooks and client-specific instructions, escalating anything outside established guidance rather than deciding it independently.
• LL.M. from a U.S. or UK institution, preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate independently in a 100% Remote environment, on a fixed schedule.
• Fluent in both written and spoken legal English, with a strong command of legal terminology and language.
