Qualificações

• Formação: Bacharel em Engenharia Elétrica, Mecatrônica ou Controles (Doutorado é desejável).
• Experiência de 8+ anos em projeto de acionamento de motor e eletrônica de potência, com pelo menos 2 anos em liderança técnica.
• Sólida base em teoria de controle moderna, estimativa de estados e identificação de parâmetros de motor.
• Experiência prática com firmware embarcado em C/C++ em tempo real e hardware (MCU ARM Cortex-M) e design de inversores (MOSFETs/IGBTs).
• Domínio de MATLAB/Simulink para design orientado por modelos e equipamentos de validação de bancada.

Responsabilidades

• Liderar, orientar e desenvolver uma equipe de 5–10 engenheiros de motor e firmware.
• Definir roadmaps técnicos e arquitetura de sistemas para MCUs, estágios de potência e sensores em diferentes plataformas de motor.
• Conduzir o desenvolvimento de algoritmos de controle avançados (FOC, controle sem sensor, DTC, Field Weakening).
• Colaborar com equipes mecânicas, de sistemas, segurança e manufatura para integração mecatrônica e conformidade regulatória.
• Supervisionar revisões de design, testes HIL e solução de problemas de estabilidade de controle e térmica de power stage.

The team you will be a part of

In this role, the candidate will work in a global cross-functional team to design, implement and integrate firmware with Motor Control solutions and Model Based Algorithms, to achieve attribute and product performance targets.

This Role In Summary

The Technical Manager of Motor Control Systems leads a team of firmware and control engineers designing next-generation electric drive systems. This role balances hands-on technical architecture-spanning power electronics, embedded software, and dynamic motor control algorithms with team mentorship, career development, project planning, and product delivery.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 5-10 engineers specializing in motor controls, embedded firmware, and power hardware design.
• System Architecture: Define technical roadmaps and system architectures for motor control units (MCUs), power stages, and sensory feedback systems across BLDC, PMSM, and induction motor platforms.
• Algorithm & Control Design: Guide the development of advanced control algorithms, including Field-Oriented Control (FOC), Sensorless Control, Direct Torque Control (DTC), and Field Weakening strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with mechanical, systems, safety, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust mechatronic integration, regulatory compliance, and seamless design-for-manufacturability (DFM).
• Technical Oversight: Lead design reviews (schematics, firmware, simulation models), direct Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, and oversee debugging of complex control loop stability or power stage thermal/EMC issues.
• Project Management: Set engineering deliverables, manage resource allocation using Agile methodologies, and maintain project schedules from initial concept to mass production.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Control Systems (Ph.D. preferred).
• Experience: 8+ years in motor drive design and power electronics, including 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
• Control Systems Mastery: Deep technical foundation in modern control theory, state estimation, and motor parameters identification.
• Embedded Firmware & Hardware: Hands-on experience with real-time embedded C/C++, microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M), inverter design (MOSFETs, IGBTs, GaN/SiC technology), and gate drivers.
• Simulation & Validation: Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design, and laboratory validation equipment (dynamometers, oscilloscopes, power analyzers).

Preferred Skills And Experiences

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering master’s degree
• Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and developing safety-critical firmware.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration and test
• Ability to work cross functionally and globally.
• Capable of working independently with cross functional teams and to provide updates to the leadership through effective communication. Should be able to negotiate and influence technical and non-technical audiences
• A passion for applying latest technologies into the development of innovative features and products
• A collaborative attitude and strong desire to succeed as part of the team.
• Self-motivated and a strong passion for learning
