Job summary

General Motors in Joinville, Brazil seeks an onsite Kitchen Assistant to support recipe creation, pre-preparation, and serving for internal events and catering. The role involves sanitary handling, product movement, and adherence to safety guidelines within the restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creation of new recipes and adaptations.
• Pre-preparation of menu items (hygiene and cutting).
• Control and planning of items used in the menu.
• Assemble and service Coffee Breaks and Board of Directors.
• Collect and identify food samples.
• Move food from prep area to refrigerators and greenhouses.
• Move food from refrigeration to thermal counters.
• Unpack/portion perishable products for prep.
• Support standardization with Officers and Chief Cooks using recipes.
• Sanitation services in restaurant areas.
• Daily cleaning of equipment and utensils.
• Support safety teams with proper coordination and behavior.

Job description

• Assist in the creation of new recipes and / or adaptations when necessary.
• Assist in the pre-preparation of the menu items (hygiene and food cutting).
• Assist in the control / planning of the items used in the menu.
• Assemble and distribute / service the Coffee Breaks and the Board of Directors.
• Collect and identify food samples.
• Carry the food from the preparation area to supply the refrigerators and greenhouses.
• Remove the food from the refrigerators and greenhouses to supply the thermal counters.
• Remove the perishable products from the original packaging in order to carry out the pre-preparation and food preparation activities.
• Assist in obtaining the standardization of the preparations together with 1/2 Officers and Chief Cooks, through the use of the standard recipes.
• Carry out sanitation services in the internal and external areas of the Restaurant.
• Perform daily cleaning of equipment and utensils.
• Participate in the work developed in the internal philosophy of the work and safety teams.
• Follow the guidelines of the coordination, maintaining a participative and dedicated behavior in the subjects pertinent to the work area.
