Job summary

Caterpillar, Inc. in Santa Catarina, Brazil, is seeking a skilled Material Planner to schedule, plan and oversee procurement, production and delivery processes within the manufacturing unit.

You will forecast material requirements, manage replenishment, organize material flow, and coordinate with suppliers to meet service levels. This is a 100% on-site role, Monday through Friday, with relocation not offered. Experience with MRP/ERP (SAP/Oracle/JDE) and strong Excel/Power BI skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5 years of background in Supply Chain with focus on material planning or logistics operations.
• Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE or similar).
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis, reporting and material planning.

Responsibilities

Role:

Schedules, plans and oversees material procurement, production and delivery processes.

What you'll do:

• Participates in scheduling production and delivery processes in accordance with current productivity and cost efficiency standards.
• Develops and executes material planning for a product line to ensure that all material requirements for assigned programs are met within the allocated time frame.
• Organizes the flow of materials within the manufacturing unit and the transferring of materials to and from the inventory or warehouse.
• Generates forecasts and manages replenishment planning for parts and materials to ensure specified service levels are met.

Education required:

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• English (Intermediate- Advance)

Below are some of the most important skills that are required in this position:

Materials Requirements Planning (MRP)

• 5 years of background in Supply Chain, with a focus on material planning and/or transportation and logistics operations.
• Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, including MM and PP modules in SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of inventory management and material flow planning to ensure material availability and uninterrupted operations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and material planning activities.

Problem Solving

• Proficiency in problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies, including 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, RCCA, A3, and continuous improvement tools .
• Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance.
• Capability to analyze data and provide recommendations to support business decisions.

Transportation

• Knowledge of transportation, traffic, and logistics processes within a supply chain environment.
• Understanding of the types, purpose, and use of shipping and transportation documents.

Relationship Management

• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, carriers, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong supplier negotiation skills to support material availability, service performance, and business objectives.
• Ability to monitor and follow up on supplier accounts payable activities to support uninterrupted supply.
• Ability to prepare and present management and executive reports for effective communication and decision-making.

Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP)

• Knowledge of material distribution planning processes to support inventory targets and customer demand requirements.
• Ability to coordinate replenishment activities and material availability across the supply chain network.

Considerations for the best candidates:

• Knowledge of Power BI for data analysis, dashboard creation, and reporting.
• Ability to manage and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
• 3 years in similar Supply Chain, Material Planning, or Logistics roles.
• Ability to perform supplier order accrual reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial and operational records.
