ABS, a global leader in marine and offshore classification, seeks a Manager of Technology to guide the identification, development, and implementation of services that benefit the organization. Based in Rio de Janeiro, you will work with senior management to align projects with strategy and drive innovation.

Qualificações

  • 10+ years of experience in marine/offshore industry preferred.
  • BS/BA degree in Engineering required.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership and client-relations skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Identify industry/regulatory needs and recommend new development projects.
  • Develop business cases for projects through collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with senior management and supervise direct reports as appropriate.
  • Ensure project alignment with corporate, business unit, Technology, and product strategy.
  • Plan technical scope and schedules for development projects.
  • Communicate capabilities to internal and external stakeholders and advance client-facing efforts.

Job Description

The Manager of Technology assists and advises the organization to ensure ABS services and capabilities are identified, developed, and implemented to the benefit of the organization.

The Manager of Technology assists and advises the organization to ensure ABS services and capabilities are identified, developed, and implemented to the benefit of the organization.

What You Will Do
  • Identify emerging industry and regulatory needs and recommend the development of product/service development projects.
  • Develop business cases for new projects based on collaboration/feedback and as directed for new projects.
  • Work with ABS senior management and peers and, where appropriate, supervise direct reports to achieve:
  • Alignment of projects with the corporate, business unit, Technology, and product strategy.
  • Development of business cases/project proposals/product strategy and marketing tools
  • Awareness and communication of competitor and business intelligence
  • Detailed planning of the technical scope and schedule of projects for development
  • Execution of technical development, the approval of deliverables, and implementation of projects
  • Participation in Committee meetings for review and approval of projects
  • Monitoring projects for timely delivery within budget and improving project development efficiency.
  • Development and coordination of corporate responses on key client issues as requested within domain expertise.
  • Communicate the best use of new technologies, services, and products to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enhance client-facing efforts through the communication of capabilities to ABS business development and engineering/survey staff, clients, and external organizations.
  • Evaluate any direct reports’ performance on project development and provide feedback to the Director/VP.
What You Will Need

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience preferred.
  • BS/BA degree recognized equivalent in Engineering is required.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in industry/technologies are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Practical experience and knowledge in classification, marine & offshore industry/technologies, and client relationships.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of MS Office applications and a high level of familiarity with web-based services. Ability to learn additional applications as required.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to organize, manage and motivate personnel. Be able to assume a high level of individual responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System
Reporting Relationships

May report to a director or executive level position.
