Overview

Manager Advisory Services. The Manager works collaboratively within a team of Advisory consultants to deliver performance improvement to healthcare systems. This position is primarily responsible for performing billable work for clients and actively leads and manages a significant workstream or project. Responsibilities include defining client engagement scope, leading data analyses, formulating initial and final recommendations, developing deliverables and presentation materials, assisting in implementation, managing risks, and overseeing project economics and logistics. The Manager participates in all aspects of the workstream, provides day-to-day management and mentorship, supports client relationship building, and engages in internal practice development and learning of Premier technologies.

The Manager should maintain utilization targets, create value through client relationships and solution delivery, foster a positive team environment, and contribute to practice growth across the Advisory service lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsibility #1 – 60%
    • Execute and oversee data analyses, interpret results, prepare verbal and graphic presentations, ensure quality assurance on deliverables, and meet project objectives and standards.
    • Lead client interviews to determine needs, summarize findings, draw insights from observations, interviews, and data, and draft/finalize client recommendations and solutions.
    • Execute project plans in accordance with the engagement statement of work and satisfy client expectations.
    • Develop presentations and deliverables for client audiences detailing strategy and outcomes.
    • Generate billings by conducting analyses, writing reports, and assisting clients with change implementation.
    • Guide and lead project management activities for assigned projects; manage budget, expenses, and profitability.
    • Manage staff on projects, provide mentoring and education, and participate in risk and issue identification and mitigation with the leadership team.
  • Responsibility #2 – 15%
    • Participate in practice development activities for the Advisory Services Practice and its Service Lines.
  • Responsibility #3 – 10%
    • Learn Premier-based technologies and services.
  • Responsibility #4 – 10%
    • Identify market opportunities on current engagements and through networks; communicate leads to managers.
    • Contribute to sales presentation deliverables using prescribed formats and technology; seek opportunities to participate.
    • Identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Responsibility #5 – 5%
    • Complete all required training annually.
Required Qualifications

Work Experience: 5 or more years

Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • Coordinate and deliver effective presentations (verbal and written) to client audiences to communicate outcomes and strategy.
  • Ability to conduct analyses, oversee, and mentor others in the delivery of client deliverables.
  • Ability to relate to clients and team members in an effective and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to lead work groups to successful outcomes.

Experience:

  • Experience in health systems finance, operations, operational or strategic consulting, strategic planning, or decision support analytics.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Education: Master’s Degree; RN license or other professional clinical license; PMP/Lean Certification (preferred).

Working Conditions

Compensation and Benefits

Premier’s compensation philosophy aims to be reasonable, equitable, and competitive. Internal salary range for this role is $113,000 – $188,000, with final salary dependent on factors such as market conditions, education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; 401(k); paid time off; participation in incentive plans; and tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities.
