Essential Functions :
  • Strategically managing the Brazil litigation portfolio, including continuing assessment of alternatives and solutions to resolve pending cases.
  • Instructing outside counsel on case management, including reviewing draft documents, formulating strategy and managing legal spend.
  • Partnering closely with business and Legal partners to assess risk, develop litigation strategy, and convey and assist in implementing legal lessons learned.
  • Reporting to senior members of the business and Legal department in Brazil and the United States, including on case updates and legal advice.
  • Advising on handling of pre‑litigation complaints and disputes.
  • Assisting with litigation‑related queries, including drafting contractual provisions.
  • Updating reports and internal databases regarding case developments as necessary.
  • Reviewing, assessing and responding to external legal requests for information, and court orders to seize / block assets.
Experience Required :
  • 5 or more years in litigation (civil or labor) or dispute resolution practice.
  • Relevant experience may have been gained at a law firm, or equivalent role within the legal department of a large multinational company.
  • Experience handling complex commercial matters and / or financial services industry disputes is preferred.
  • Experience managing a caseload with limited supervision is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English is required.

  • Ability to respond to business inquiries with workable solutions often under time pressure.
