A leading financial services firm in São Paulo is seeking a Legal Entity Controller Senior Associate to oversee GAAP requirements and prepare reports for US regulators. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a Legal Entity Control role and possess strong technical skills along with excellent communication abilities in both Portuguese and English. Job Description

The Brazil Finance & Business Management team is seeking for new member to join the Legal Entity Control (“LEC”) group, based in São Paulo. The LECs are responsible for the integrity of the financial statements, regulatory financial and management financial reporting associated with the J.P. Morgan legal entities. The candidate will be part of the division responsible for Accounting Policies & Procedures as well as external regulatory reporting, Initiatives, Governance and Controls.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversight for US GAAP, local GAAP & IFRS requirements;

Preparation and submission of external reports to US regulators;

Providing all the lines of businesses and supporting functions with technical advisory on accounting policies, which includes BAU accounting as well as ad-hoc requests and/or in the context of NBIAs or initiatives;

Active participation on meetings and Project Working Groups as well as the coordination of requirements across Local Reporting, Corporate Reporting and Capital Management;

Being responsible for the LEC control agenda in Brazil, which includes (i) management and assistance on the resolution of control deficiencies involving LEC, (ii) LEC metrics and other control-driven regional initiatives;

Supporting and conducting the implementation of strategic initiatives, such as Legal Entity Simplification and other corporate actions/restructuring involving the Brazilian entities;

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

Broad knowledge of financial services businesses and products;

Broad knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP & IFRS requirements;

Minimal 5 years of experience working on a Legal Entity Control position, or equivalent, in Financial Institutions;

Strong technical, relationship building and communication skills (written and verbal in Portuguese and English);

Excellent time management and organization skills, ability to handle multiple timelines and working on complex projects;
