We are seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to define, build, and operate a governed, scalable enterprise data platform that accelerates analytics and insight delivery. You will lead strategy, architecture, delivery, and governance for an AWS-native lakehouse while enabling secure self-service access to trusted data.
Responsibilities
- Define the enterprise data platform vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap
- Design and evolve an AWS-native lakehouse architecture for secure, high-performance access to trusted data
- Establish reusable platform standards, reference architectures, and engineering quality frameworks
- Drive migration from legacy Microsoft-based data platforms to the target lakehouse and governance model
- Own delivery and ongoing operations of ingestion pipelines, transformation frameworks, and orchestration patterns
- Implement governance controls, data catalog integration, and self-service discovery using Amazon DataZone
- Ensure reliability, observability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency across platform workloads
- Enable fine-grained access control and secure consumption patterns across domains
- Lead tooling decisions and integration patterns for analytics and BI consumption, including SQL-based access
- Mentor and grow a team, setting clear expectations and fostering continuous improvement
- Align with business domains to onboard data products and scale adoption of self-service data access
- Act as the escalation point for platform decisions, risks, and trade-offs across stakeholders
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering or data platform experience
- 1+ years of people leadership experience in data engineering or platform teams
- Strong platform strategy skills to define roadmaps, standards, and investment direction
- Proven project delivery ownership for end-to-end platform build and operations
- Advanced AWS data ecosystem experience with AWS Database Migration Service, AWS Glue, and Amazon DataZone
- Expert data governance and security knowledge including data catalog integration, access controls, and policy enforcement
- Strong lakehouse architecture experience designing scalable, governed data lakehouse foundations
- Strong SQL for Data Analytics skills across ingestion, transformation, and consumption use cases
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to align cross-functional domain, security, and analytics partners
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

- Agentic Delivery Methodology experience for scalable platform execution
- Analytics & Data Assessment experience to baseline data maturity and prioritize improvements
- Apache Spark experience for large-scale batch and streaming workloads
- Microsoft Power BI integration experience for governed self-service analytics
- Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services experience supporting legacy pipeline migration
