Location : Remote (LATAM-based candidates only) Salary Range : $2000- $4,000 USD P month
About the Role
We're looking for a highly autonomous, analytical Accountant to join a growing team in the CPG / manufacturing environment. This role goes beyond traditional accounting tasks and sits somewhere between a Super Senior Accountant and a Junior Controller.
This person will not only handle day-to-day accounting responsibilities, but also bring strong analytical thinking, inventory and cost ownership, and troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently identify issues, understand why numbers don't make sense, and proactively propose solutions.
This is a hands-on role for someone who has actually produced financial statements, not just reviewed them.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Financial Ownership
- Produce monthly financial statements (not just review them)
- Own full-cycle accounting processes in QuickBooks Online (required)
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting
Inventory, COGS & Cost Analysis (Must-Have)
- Reconcile inventory and sales end-to-end
- Own and analyze COGS and cost behavior
- Identify cost variances, inefficiencies, or inconsistencies
- Understand how cost changes impact margins and performance
- Work closely with inventory-heavy operations typical of CPG / manufacturing
Shopify & Sales Reconciliation (Must-Have)
- Reconcile Shopify sales against accounting records
- Understand sales flow, fees, payouts, and discrepancies
- Ensure alignment between operational data and financials
Trade Spend & CPG-Specific Analysis
- Understand and manage trade spend concepts common in CPG / wineries
- Analyze promotional spend and its financial impact
- Bring ideas, improvements, and best practices to the team
- Potentially help train or guide other team members with less experience
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving (Critical)
- Investigate issues when numbers don't match or processes break
- Go beyond "I don't know" — identify root causes and fix problems
- Act as a go-to person when things don't work as expected
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
- 4–7 years of experience as an Accountant
- Proven experience producing financial statements
- Strong background in manufacturing and / or inventory-heavy environments
- Solid experience with inventory and sales reconciliations
- Hands-on experience reconciling Shopify
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- QuickBooks Online experience (required)
Nice to Have
- Experience in CPG, food & beverage, wineries, or similar industries
- Familiarity with tools like A2X, C7, or similar inventory / sales platforms
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Certifications or additional accounting training
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members
