Eurofins is seeking an IT Database Administrator to install, configure, secure, and optimize database platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and integrity across MSSQL and PostgreSQL environments. You will support backups, DR, and high-availability strategies while working with Azure and automation to improve reliability.

You will monitor incidents, tune queries, and collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to enable scalable data services.

Responsabilidades

• Install, configure, and maintain MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Monitor performance, perform tuning, and manage backups with DR solutions.
• Ensure security, RBAC, encryption, and GDPR/HIPAA compliance as applicable.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell or Bash and integrate with Azure services.
• Collaborate with DevOps, infra, and application teams for deployments and fixes.

Job Description

We are seeking an IT Database Administrator who will be responsible for installing, configuring, securing, maintaining, and optimizing database platforms to ensure their availability, performance, recoverability, and integrity. The role manages database lifecycle activities, implements backup and disaster recovery controls, monitors and resolves database-related issues, and provides technical support to application and development teams.

Database Management

• Install, configure, and upgrade MSSQL and PostgreSQL database servers.
• Create, modify, and maintain database objects, including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
• Develop and maintain backup strategies.
• Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, including replication, clustering, and failover technologies to ensure data integrity and availability.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain database security and compliance controls.
• Implement database security policies, including role-based access controls, permissions, and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

Performance Optimisation

• Continuously monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
• Analyze query performance and optimize SQL statements.
• Manage indexing strategies and partitioning.

Azure & Automation

• Administer and support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and other database-related Azure services where applicable.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies to reduce operational effort and improve reliability.

Operational Support and Reliability

• Monitor database availability, capacity, scheduled jobs, backups, replication, and performance.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents and service requests.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring or high-impact issues.
• Maintain operational documentation and support planned production changes in accordance with established procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to support deployments, migrations, and operational improvements.
