The Operational Finance Team is responsible for a variety of tasks that are instrumental in keeping the business running on a day-to-day basis. There are six teams within the Operational Finance Function each serve a specific purpose to the company: (1) Accounting and Accounts Payable – accurately records all vendor related transactions and keeps our vendors paid, (2) AR Team – provisions all customers access to Mixpanel and ensures proper revenue recognition and records all customer payments and ensures we get paid on time, (3) Payroll – prepares payrolls for all employees worldwide, (4) Deal Desk – facilitates contract review and execution of customer contracts and assists the sales team to accelerate the deal cycle, and (5) Procurement – oversees and facilitates the source-to-pay process with an objective of efficiency and cost savings.
Mixpanel is looking for someone to be the first tax hire, with the primary focus being indirect tax and a heavy emphasis on international indirect tax. They should have strong experience with a variety of indirect and international tax operations and can drive process improvements. This person should work well independently and have the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives. In this role, strong accounting, analytical, and research skills will be required, along with excellent written and oral communication skills. We are looking for an Indirect Tax Manager who will direct and manage multiple operations related to taxes while also participating in the preparation of recurring obligations. This role will manage specific indirect tax‑related functions in addition to compliance‑related activities and plan, manage, and develop overall aspects of the company’s tax process. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
The amount listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. In addition to the cash compensation provided, this position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level and are benchmarked to the SF Bay Area Technology data cut released by Radford, a global compensation database. The range displayed represents the minimum and maximum TTCC for new hire salaries for the position across all of our US locations. To stay on top of market conditions, we refresh our salary ranges twice a year so these ranges may change in the future. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and other factors.
