What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Meet or exceed sales and territory objectives by developing and executing strategic business plans for the ophthalmology market
- Collaborate with portfolio representatives to identify opportunities and optimize customer engagement
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with opinion leaders and decision-makers within ophthalmology networks
- Communicate complex disease-state and therapeutic information with authority and clarity
- Attend regional and national conferences to build relationships and represent ophthalmology initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in ophthalmology
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree with 7+ years or 10+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Current experience within the territory and knowledge of customers is required
- Proven success in larger, complex territories with multiple account types
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license and ability to travel locally up to 40%
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience selling biologics or specialty pharmaceuticals to ophthalmologists or retina specialists
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills within matrixed teams
