What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to meet or exceed sales goals in the ophthalmology market
- Collaborate with portfolio representatives to identify opportunities and optimize customer engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and decision-makers in ophthalmology
- Communicate complex disease-state and therapeutic information effectively to stakeholders
- Present at conferences and represent the company’s ophthalmology initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in ophthalmology
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree with 7+ years or 10+ years of equivalent experience in ophthalmology is acceptable
- Current experience within the territory and knowledge of local customers is required
- Proven success in selling biologics or specialty pharmaceuticals to ophthalmologists or retina specialists
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license and ability to travel locally up to 40%
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in larger, complex territories with multiple account types (private practice, academic, institutional)
