ENGIE Brasil seeks an Hydro Environmental Analyst I to support the environmental management of our hydroelectric plant in Estreito, Maranhão, Brazil. You will ensure compliance with environmental programs and strengthen relationships with communities and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities include monitoring inspections, representing the company on socio-environmental matters, and contributing to risk management with project-related support and budgets.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental fields and knowledge of Brazilian environmental legislation.
  • Experience with environmental licensing and permit conditions management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ESG principles; proficiency in GIS tools.

Responsabilidades

  • Ensure compliance with environmental licensing requirements and related programs.
  • Monitor on-site inspections and oversee mitigation or compensation measures.
  • Represent ENGIE with municipalities, NGOs, and local communities on socio-environmental matters.
  • Act as ENGIE’s representative for ISO 14001 during audits.
  • Manage environmental project schedules, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare/review technical specs and manage environmental contract budgets.
  • Support socio-environmental risk management and project investments.

We are seeking a Hydro Environmental Analyst I to support the environmental management of our hydroelectric power plant in Estreito, Maranhão, Brazil. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental programs, strengthening relationships with communities and regulatory agencies, and ensuring that our operations align with best socio-environmental practices.

Your Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with environmental licensing requirements and the implementation of environmental programs associated with the Operation License.
  • Monitor on-site technical inspections and oversee the implementation of measures aimed at mitigating or compensating for adverse impacts.
  • Represent the company before municipalities, NGOs, regional committees, and local communities on socio-environmental matters.
  • Act as ENGIE’s representative for ISO 14001, participating in internal and external audits.
  • Manage environmental project schedules, assess deviations, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, as well as manage environmental contract budgets.
  • Contribute to socio-environmental risk management and support the implementation of projects and investments in the area.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology, or Geography.
  • Intermediate knowledge of environmental licensing, management of environmental permit conditions, and Brazilian environmental legislation.
  • Proficiency in geoprocessing/GIS tools and knowledge of ISO 14001 and ESG principles.
  • Experience in environmental contract budget management and environmental program management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with effective verbal and written communication.
  • Collaborative profile with a systemic mindset, critical thinking, and a results-oriented approach.
  • Basic English proficiency.
  • Postgraduate degree in Project Management or Environmental Licensing is desirable.
