FIFA has established a Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil to work together with FIFA Zurich to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ (“FWWC2027”) that for the first time ever, is hosted in South America in Brazil. THE POSITION

The Host City Manager will be responsible for the institutional management of FIFA's relationship with the state and municipal governments of the respective Host City of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027™.

Acting as the main local liaison, this professional will ensure the monitoring and coordination of government commitments under their responsibility, ensuring continuous alignment with FIFA's strategy and guidelines.

The position is preferably based in the Host City itself, ensuring local presence, institutional proximity, and direct monitoring of agendas.

The Manager will report directly to the Head of Government Relations and Host Cities.

The tournament will be staged across 8 stadiums in Brazil, and we’re recruiting one Host City Manager for each host city:

  • Belo Horizonte
  • Brasília
  • Fortaleza
  • Porto Alegre
  • Recife
  • Rio de Janeiro
  • Salvador
  • São Paulo

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Institutional Relations with State and Municipal Governments

  • Act as FIFA's main institutional representative to the State Government and City Hall of the Host City under your responsibility.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with state and municipal secretariats, autonomous agencies, public companies, and other relevant local bodies.
  • Ensure that local authorities are aligned with the commitments made in the Host City Agreement and other instruments signed with FIFA.

2. Monitoring of Government Deliverables

  • Monitor and report on the status of state and municipal government obligations related to the tournament.
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and schedule deviations, proposing solutions and making the necessary adjustments.
  • Support, when applicable, the local coordination of thematic working groups (security, transportation, mobility, public services, among others).

3. Coordination with FIFA's Central Structure

  • Act as a link between the Host City and FIFA's functional areas (Security, Transportation, Operations, Sustainability, Communications, among others).
  • Ensure that local information and demands are reported in a structured and timely manner to the Head of the area.
  • Support the organization of technical visits, workshops, meetings, and official FIFA agendas in the Host City.

4. Planning, Reporting, and Governance

  • Prepare periodic reports on institutional relations and the status of the Host City's commitments.
  • Update reports, schedules, and monitoring tools defined by the Government Relations area.
  • Ensure institutional consistency, alignment of discourse, and adherence to FIFA guidelines at the local level.

YOUR PROFILE

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Law, Public Administration, Communication, Political Science, or related fields.

Experience

  • Solid experience of at least 6 years in government relations, institutional coordination, or public stakeholder management, preferably in complex projects, large-scale events, or institutional environments.
  • Previous experience in large sport events or organizations with an international interface (FIFA, Local Organizing Committees, IOC, etc.).
