Job description

At ENGIE Brasil Energia, we believe that the energy transition is only possible when people are safe to build it. Every generation and transmission project we deliver starts with a strong culture of prevention and care.

In this role, you will lead the protection of the people who make energy happen. Your work will have a direct impact on the lives of both employees and contractors involved in large-scale projects across Brazil.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate health and safety processes with the purpose of managing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) performance of contractor companies during project implementation.
  • Select and coordinate health and safety supervision teams responsible for overseeing and managing contractor companies involved in project execution, ensuring compliance with Regulatory Standards (NRs), contractual HSE guidelines, and health and safety targets established for the construction phase of power generation, transmission, and decommissioning projects.
  • Coordinate or participate in Occupational Health and Safety audits at projects under implementation to verify compliance with legal and contractual requirements, identify opportunities to eliminate significant risks, and ensure employee engagement with HSE guidelines.
  • Propose and lead programs aimed at achieving performance targets, with emphasis on proactive indicators and actions focused on reducing accident frequency and severity rates, while strengthening a preventive culture among employees and contractors.
  • Develop health and safety processes, procedures, and work instructions applicable to projects under implementation, in accordance with national standards, engineering best practices, and internal guidelines. Participate in root cause analysis, maintain incident and accident records and statistics, support preventive initiatives, document lessons learned, and contribute to the management and dissemination of strategically relevant knowledge throughout the Corporation.
  • Develop and implement OHS management tools to prevent workplace risks, safeguarding the health and integrity of Company employees and contractor personnel involved in project implementation, while ensuring compliance and monitoring programs required by current legislation.
  • Coordinate the implementation of corporate health and safety instruments, including communication channels, ensuring that policies and requirements are clearly communicated, effective, and accessible to all employees and contractors. Also coordinate or monitor awareness and educational campaigns focused on accident prevention during project execution.
  • Coordinate, within the project implementation scope, the development of complementary health and safety programs focused on proactive indicators to engage employees and contractors in reducing accident frequency and severity rates, while reinforcing a preventive culture.
  • Contribute to project planning and take responsibility for implementing or monitoring integrated safety management systems, tracking performance indicators and non-conformities.
  • Coordinate technical guidance regarding compliance with Regulatory Standards (NRs) and the Company's codes of conduct applicable to project implementation activities.
  • Review projects from an occupational safety perspective and participate in factory inspections when required.
  • Evaluate the performance of contractor companies, as well as organizations recommended as subcontractors, regarding occupational health and safety policies, standards, and performance indicators, recommending the disqualification of those that fail to meet minimum required standards.
  • Participate in the planning of new projects by proposing contractual clauses that support control of contractor activities, developing applicable guidelines, and contributing to the definition of responsibilities and obligations of each party. Ensure contractors are contractually committed to complying with the Company's policies, principles, commitments, and health and safety requirements.
  • Participate in the preparation of terms of reference, technical specifications, and scope documents, as well as the evaluation of submitted proposals, contributing to supplier selection processes.
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with internal and external Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management requirements applicable to the business, while supporting the implementation and maintenance of certification standards adopted by the Company.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with postgraduate specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering.
