Location & Remote Work for technology and remote‑first roles

Our technology team operates under a “remote‑first” model, which means we work from home and can live anywhere in Brazil. We also offer the option of working from our São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces, up to twice a week.

About the Team

You will lead a small, senior team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers at the forefront of QuintoAndar's AI strategy. This team is focused on a high‑impact, high‑visibility mission: creating the company's next‑generation, comprehensive AI assistant.

This role places you at the center of executing our 2026 central AI vision. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact and gain immediate visibility across the entire company as you pioneer the systems that will redefine our user and employee experiences.

You responsibilities will include:

  • Shape the AI Roadmap: Define, own, and execute the strategic roadmap for the AI assistant, overseeing its end‑to‑end development, deployment, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Implement SOTA Evaluation: Design and implement state‑of‑the‑art evaluation systems and frameworks specifically built to measure, understand, and enhance the performance of a complex, agentic chatbot assistant.
  • Drive Agent Integration: Collaborate closely with partners and business units across the company to guide the seamless integration of new, specialized AI agents into the central assistant.
  • Align Cross‑Functional Partners: Strengthen alignment and foster deep collaboration with cross‑functional partners, particularly the Conversational XP line and other core product teams, to ensure a unified and exceptional user experience.
  • Be an AI Evangelist: Act as a key AI leader within QuintoAndar, actively promoting and disseminating best practices for advanced AI agentic design, development, and operation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Data & AI.
  • Proven track record of leading medium to large teams and fostering career growth for data professionals (MLEs, DS, DA, DE).
  • Experience leading teams to business impact through AI or Machine Learning.
  • Experience with building products with LLMs: RAG systems, AI agents, LLM fine‑tuning, and advanced evaluation techniques to understand performance of AI products.
  • Experience with experimentation for AI/DS/MLE products: experimental design, Bayesian modeling, optimization, and causal inference for A/B experiment analysis.
  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning.
  • Solid understanding of software and data engineering best practices, with awareness of the challenges in deploying machine learning models to production.
  • Excellent English skills (verbal and written) are mandatory.

You will stand out if you:

  • Have experience in working at fast‑growing startups.
  • Hold an MSc. (or undergraduate plus intensive experience) in data science, machine learning, information retrieval, ranking systems, recommender systems, natural language processing, computer science, or other relevant fields.
  • Have experience with AI or MLE projects to improve support experience.
  • Have experience leading staff and individual contributors.
