Wedding Weekender is redefining wedding videography by helping couples capture their wedding weekends in an authentic, affordable way. We rent camcorders for family and friends to film the weekend—then our team organizes the footage and edits it into a wedding video that feels true and unique to each couple's celebrations.

We're a fast-growing, creative start-up expanding our global post-production team to deliver high-quality, on-brand wedding films at volume. Since our launch this year, we've been featured in the New York Times, Vogue Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings, and more. We're looking for a creative, experienced wedding video editor to bring Wedding Weekender films to life.

Role Description

This is a full-time freelance role (remote-friendly) at Wedding Weekender. We're looking for an editor with exceptional editorial judgment, storytelling instincts, pacing, and musicality who can turn imperfect footage into something that feels authentic, emotional, funny, and deeply specific to each couple.

This role is ideal for an editor who can work independently, make strong creative decisions, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and consistently deliver high-quality work at a professional pace.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing

• Edit wedding films from raw footage to final delivery based on client briefs
• Craft compelling narratives using strong pacing, structure, and music selection
• Perform color correction and color grading to ensure a consistent, polished look across all footage sources
• Adjust and balance audio levels, reduce background noise, and sync sound for a clean final mix
• Ensure every edit reflects Wedding Weekender's brand and creative standards
• Meet project deadlines and deliver consistent quality across all films

Feedback & Revisions

• Incorporate feedback from the Post-Production Specialists and Director of Post-Production
• Revise edits promptly and thoughtfully in response to notes
• Apply feedback consistently to reduce recurring issues over time

Creative Contributions

• Stay current on editing trends and techniques relevant to wedding films
• Contribute ideas, references, and inspiration to elevate the team's creative output
• Flag gaps or inconsistencies in creative guidelines and workflow to help them evolve

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional video editing experience, ideally in wedding, documentary, branded, commercial, event, or other narrative-driven content.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; familiarity with Frame.io workflows
• A portfolio demonstrating storytelling ability—not just technical editing or attractive visuals.
• Exceptional editorial judgment: you can find meaningful moments within large amounts of unscripted footage and know when to hold, cut, or move on.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and applying it consistently across projects.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines in a remote, fast-moving environment
• Ability to work independently from a brief and make creative decisions without needing every cut prescribed.
• Comfortable balancing creative quality, efficiency, and consistency in a fast-growing, high-volume production environment.
