A technology consulting company is seeking an experienced FreeBSD Kernel Testing Engineer to enhance the performance monitoring framework. You will develop validation tests for PMC and work closely with kernel engineers to ensure system reliability. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience, and strong skills in Unix/Linux kernel validation and performance management frameworks. The position is based in São Paulo, Brazil and requires hands-on experience with debugging and automation tools.
We are looking for an experienced FreeBSD Kernel Testing Engineer to join a project focused on expanding and enhancing the Performance Monitoring Counters (PMC) validation test suite for modern platforms. The goal of the project is to strengthen the reliability and coverage of FreeBSD's performance monitoring frameworks across core, uncore, and IBS PMCs. You will be responsible for creating new validation tests, improving existing ones, ensuring correct PMC multiplexing behavior, and enabling proper PMC attachment to live processes in FreeBSD environments. This role involves close work with low‑level system internals, performance instrumentation, and automated test development.
