Reboot Monkey is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Assistant to join our finance team.
This individual will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including managing accounts, assisting with budgeting, preparing financial reports, reconciling invoices, and helping ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Management & Recordkeeping: Assist with the daily management of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions; ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system; support the reconciliation of bank statements, accounts, and credit card transactions; manage petty cash and other small transactions as required.
- Reconciling Invoices: Reconcile invoices to purchase orders, receipts, and vendor contracts; review and resolve discrepancies in invoices and payments; maintain a detailed record of reconciled and outstanding invoices; coordinate with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Financial Reporting Support: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports; assist in tracking financial performance, comparing actuals against forecasts, and ensuring consistency in financial reporting; provide support for audit preparations by gathering necessary documents and data.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Assistance: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for various departments; help analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost‑saving opportunities; track expenditures and report on budget variances as needed.
- Invoice & Payment Processing: Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments; verify purchase orders and receipts to ensure compliance with company policies; maintain accurate records of payments, ensuring all expenses are documented and categorised correctly.
- Tax & Compliance Support: Assist with tax filings and compliance‑related matters, ensuring that all relevant documentation is submitted on time; help maintain accurate records for compliance with financial regulations and company policies; track and maintain financial documentation for regulatory audits and reporting.
- Financial Systems & Software Management: Support the finance team with the management of accounting software and tools; assist with maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date financial data within the company’s financial systems; provide support in training team members on financial systems and processes as needed.
- General Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the CFO and other senior finance staff; assist in preparing presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders; handle general office tasks, including filing and organising financial documents and data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or pursuing a degree).
- 1‑3 years of experience in a financial or accounting role (internships included).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.).
- Good understanding of financial principles and accounting procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
