FACILITIES SPECIALIST III

This experienced specialist handles all aspects of facilities planning, including space utilization, equipment installation and maintenance, remodeling, and expansion. They also create and manage monitoring systems or programs to detect and resolve facility issues as quickly as possible. The incumbent oversees facility-related contracts for ongoing services as well as new construction, repairs, and upgrades.
This seasoned specialist serves as a project manager for field facility construction or participates as a team member in major, complex, and international projects. He or she may train and supervise the work of other specialists.
What will you do?
- Advocate for child protection and ensure all activities align with Compassion’s safeguarding standards.
- Lead global real estate acquisition processes for both owned and leased properties.
- Manage due diligence, planning, and project execution for construction of owned facilities.
- Conduct feasibility studies and collaborate cross-functionally with field offices.
- Serve as lead project manager, ensuring compliance with local codes and ministry requirements.
- Develop financial models (ROI, NPV) and present strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Integrate strategic facility planning with organizational needs and capital projects.
- Establish and lead business continuity planning for the facilities function.
- Ensure construction standards and material usage meet approved specifications.
- Minimize financial and security risks during construction implementation.
- Oversee space planning, furniture utilization, and building occupancy.
- Align facilities-related initiatives with corporate and functional objectives.
- Define project scopes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Monitor and report construction project performance across locations.
- Provide coaching and technical guidance to facilities staff and professionals.
What should you bring?
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related fields
- Project Management certification
- Proficiency in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, facilities, or related fields
- Experience in cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and scope management
- Familiarity with contract processes
- Proven experience in cross-cultural work environments
- Proficiency in project management software (Smartsheet, MS Project, Miro, etc)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to connect effectively within professional networks
- Proven leadership capabilities

Working Conditions
- Modality: Remote work
- Location: Must reside in Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Dominican Republic.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking up to 8 hours per day
- Travel Requirements: May require travel up to 50% of working hours
