DoorDash Brazil is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a talented group of engineers in São Paulo. You will drive the delivery of our product roadmap, balance technical excellence with business priorities, and foster a collaborative cross-functional environment.

You will mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and partner with product managers, operations, and other teams to ensure scalable, reliable systems that power local commerce.

• 2+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams of 5+ engineers
• 7+ years of industry experience
• Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
• Fluency in English and ability to work with remote teams in multiple time zones

About the Role

As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee a talented group of engineers, collaborating closely with product managers, operation and other cross-functional partners. Your primary responsibility will be driving the successful execution of our product roadmap, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality solutions that meet both customer needs and business objectives. You will be key in fostering a collaborative and cross-functional work environment and promoting effective communication and synergy amongst team members. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can balance technical excellence with business priorities.

• Lead and grow a team of exceptional engineers, empowering through delegation, and delivering end-to-end engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team’s roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap.

• BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams of 5+ engineers
• 7+ years of industry experience
• Experience working with remote teams in different time zone(s) and fluency in English
• Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
• Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
• Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
• Experience in B2B product development
• Experience in data integrations via API, file exchange, self service tooling, etc
• Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
