Félix is seeking a Product-minded Engineering Manager to lead MPX, the squad behind Félix’s conversational experience on WhatsApp. You will act as a Solution Designer, bridging business requirements with high-level technical execution and guiding a team of engineers across product teams and users.

This is not hands-on coding; your focus is delivery, architecture, and fostering a high-performance culture, backed by technical depth to guide decisions and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in team management (2+ years) leading direct reports.
• Delivery-focused with ability to coordinate stakeholders.
• Ability to design systems at a high level, not hands-on coding.
• Product-centric with focus on UX, metrics, and business outcomes.

About The Role

We are looking for a Product-minded Engineering Manager to lead MPX (Multi-Product Experience), the squad building the platforms behind Félix’s conversational experience on WhatsApp, the layer every Félix product runs through. In this role, you will act as a Solution Designer, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and high-level technical execution. You will lead a team of talented software engineers, including specialists in agentic systems and conversational flows, coordinating their work across internal product teams and our users. This is not a hands-on coding role: your focus will be on delivery, results, and fostering a high-performance culture, backed by the technical depth to guide architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage squad performance, set goals, and track progress while providing direct mentorship to foster a culture of continuous growth.
• Act as a Solution Designer, translating product and business demands into scalable technical architectures.
• Partner closely with the Product team to define, prioritize, and execute the technical roadmap for our conversational platform and the flows other Félix products build on it.
• Align the internal teams that depend on the platform, balancing their needs with the experience of our users.
• Focus on Business Metrics, ensuring the engineering team provides tools and tracking for usability, conversion funnels, and retention.
• Support high-level technical decisions and architectural guidance, ensuring the team delivers performant and optimized solutions.
• Lead people management initiatives, including 1:1s, career development, and maintaining high motivation levels within the squad.
• Optimize development processes and improve code quality while setting a high-quality standard for the team.
• Generate exemplary technical documentation to set the foundations for the squad’s long-term success.

Requirements

• Proven experience in team management (ideally 2+ years leading direct reports), with a strong track record of having direct reports in a fast-paced technology environment.
• Strong delivery-oriented mindset, with experience supporting stakeholders and coordinating teams to achieve tangible business results.
• Ability to act at a high technical level, focusing on system design and problem-solving rather than hands-on coding.
• Product-centric approach, with an interest in user experience, metrics, and business-driven engineering.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with Product Managers and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to inspire and motivate a team, taking full ownership of the developers’ growth and career concerns.
• Advanced/Fluent English
• Experience in the Fintech industry or startup environments is a strong plus.
• Experience with agentic systems, LLM-based products or conversational flows (e.g. WhatsApp) is a significant advantage.
• These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
