We are looking for an Embedded Software Analyst to work on developing embedded Linux solutions , focusing on C++ , hardware and software integration, and communication with cloud services. This professional will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the services that make up the core of our connected devices, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability of the solutions used in the field. If you enjoy understanding what happens “under the hood”—from reading a datasheet to optimizing a service in production—and want to work closely with the hardware without sacrificing good software engineering practices, this position is for you.
Work Location: Araçatuba – SP
Here’s what your workday will look like:
- Design, develop, and maintain services, daemons, and tools for embedded Linux platforms, prioritizing performance, stability, and efficient resource utilization;
- Develop software in modern C++ (and C , when necessary), applying good practices in architecture, code organization, testing, and error handling;
- Implement and debug network communication between devices and services, using protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, HTTP/REST , among others;
- Integrate devices with external APIs and backend services , performing authentication, data serialization, and handling communication failures;
- Develop and evolve the telemetry layer , responsible for collecting, aggregating, transporting, and monitoring metrics and events from devices;
- Perform low-level hardware integrations , interpreting datasheets, configuring peripherals, and validating software behavior with electronic circuits;
- Collaborate with the Hardware, Firmware, and Backend teams in defining architectures, interfaces, and technical requirements;
- Utilize Git and collaborative development workflows, including branches, code reviews, and continuous integration;
- Diagnose and solve problems in the field and on the test bench, proposing improvements that increase the robustness, reliability, and performance of embedded solutions;
- To contribute to the continuous evolution of platforms by adopting best practices in software engineering and embedded systems development.
Requirements and qualifications
- Proven experience in embedded Linux development (services, tools, system integration).
- Strong foundation in C++ for creating services and tools, with mastery of concepts such as memory management, concurrency, and error handling.
- Knowledge of network protocols and communication between systems (TCP/IP, UDP and application protocols).
- Hands‑on experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
- Experience integrating with external APIs (consuming and/or providing services).
- Familiarity with telemetry concepts (collecting and sending metrics, logs, and events).
- Basic hardware knowledge sufficient for reading datasheets and performing basic integrations.
- Experience with concurrent programming (threads, mutexes, condition variables).
- Knowledge of IPC in Linux (Unix sockets, shared memory, pipes, D-Bus, etc.).
- Familiarity with systemd (services, timers, journal).
Differences:
- Experience with microcontroller (MCU) development — such as STM32, ESP32, and ATmega — preferably using native HALs or SDKs, without relying on high-level frameworks like Arduino.
- Experience with embedded build systems (Yocto, Buildroot, CMake).
- Experience with low-level debugging (GDB, JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, oscilloscope).
- Knowledge of security in connected devices (encrypted communication, provisioning, OTA updates).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines applied to firmware/embedded systems.
- Technical English for reading documentation and collaboration.
